Castlevania: Curse of Darkness framerate drops on 720p

System specs:

i5-2500k @ 4 Ghz
8G DDR3 1333 RAM
Nvidia GTX 730 2GB
OS: Linux Mint (latest)

Cannot seem to get Castlevania: Curse of Darkness at solid 60fps at 720p, only with PS2 native resolution. At 720p the game at points drops to 71%. All settings are original default, except when I up the resolution to 720p. I believe I should be able to get better performance with my system specs. 

Any tips or is this game just not going to run at 720p for me smoothly?

Issue with loading my saved files

Hi! i've recently downloaded this emulator, i tried god of wars to remind me of my good old days with that game, and today when i was loading my file it didnt work, its binded with f3. So i literally enter to the program, load the game, press f3 to load my saved file, but this time it just exit the game and it prompts, about a message where the saved files are. I opened console to check what happened but it just says "bad zipfile offset to entry" then it closes the plugins and says: "path: (the directory) and (pxactionevent) Cannot read from file (bad file handle?)(VM_unzipfromdisk).




Pls help! i really dont want to loose any of my progress :c

Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm (PAL) resolution scaling issues

Hi, I'm playing with PCSX2's widescreen hacks enabled and when I increase the resolution in the graphics plugin the game suffers a thatched look while entering combat, anomalous visuals during portrait conversations between characters and issues with the combat HUD. The Round Sprite hack fixes artifacts on the combat HUD but the other issues persist.

I've tried many of the hacks to no avail, does anyone have a solution to all the graphical issues when increasing the internal rendering resolution? (I know the side bars in combats Burst Mode can't be fixed, the animating background asset is designed for 4:3 aspect ratio displays and will obviously not fill a 16x9 space).

Issues happen with PCSX2 1.4.x, 1.6.0 and recent 1.7.0 builds.

Pitfall still not working despite progress report stating otherwise

A long time ago, I decided to try playing Pitfall - The Lost Expedition since it was a childhood favorite growing up, however it had an issue on PCSX2 where starting a new game would cause an infinite black screen.  It had a somewhat inferior GameCube port, but unfortunately it was incompatible with Dolphin for a completely different reason.

I saw the recent progress report and was interested to see the part that said:

[Accuracy Enhancement] #3539 VIF: VIF MSCAL instructions wait on VU T-Bit stop. By refractionpcsx2.
Fixes the following games from crashing, and removes gamedb patches for them since they now work properly:
  • The Sims
  • Spiderman 3
  • Sharks Tale
  • Maybe some bits of Over the Hedge
  • Pitfall (both demo and full game)
  • Gumball 3000
  • Enter the Matrix
  • Evolution Snowboarding
Pitfall is finally fixed!  So I set up the latest 1.7.0 build and booted up Pitfall, only to be greeted by the same exact black screen problem as before.  The log spams "Interrupt bit is set!!!" for a while then prints "Call Stack Overflow (report if it fixes/breaks anything)" and from here on there's no log activity, the music constantly looping in the background.  I know this is the same problem because just like before, enabling "Ignore DMAC writes when it is busy" still causes it to progress a bit further then the same black screen occurs.  I looked at a list of all PS2 games, and The Lost Expedition was the only Pitfall game released for PS2, so I know the progress report was referring to this one.

So, what's the deal?  Why is it still broken?  Was "Pitfall (both demo and full game)" a typo and you meant to type a different game's title?

The log is normal other than the spam and error I described, so there's no point in providing one.  It's the same issue as before, just look at logs provided for this issue in the past and you'll see my log.

Edit: I should mention that the progress report states the Harry Potter games have also been fixed, and those DO work now. So I know I'm playing on the right build.

Is it weird that PCSX2 stresses my hardware when set to 8x internal rendering resolution in various parts of Kingdom Hearts 2, yet neither GPU-Z nor Task Manager report anywhere close to 100% GPU/Individual CPU Core utilization when in situations where the FPS drops?

ds4windows wierd issue

Hey guys, Im useing ds4windows with ps4 controler and I have a wierd issue. While playing SW sSquadrons game is detecting joeystick and keep changing my setting and Im unable to play. Game is still switch from ps4 controler to joeystick and ofc i dont have one. Does any1 ever encountered something like that?

Lilypad 0.10.0 Not Letting Me Map Controls

Hi all! I'm new around here and have been casually emulating for some time now but have not experienced an issue like this before.

I recently decided to update my version of the Lilypad plugin because I started playing a game that requires pressure sensitivity for the face buttons. 
After updating to 0.10.0 however, my previous setup for my gamepad disappeared and now I can no longer even select a device to map controls to, not even my keyboard. Especially puzzling to me considering it seems the devices themselves can be can be detected just fine. I use a Logitech F310, which had been working fine with PCSX2 until I updated the plugin.

So far I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my gamepad, changing usb ports, going back to the old version of Lilypad and back again, and clearing the .ini, all with no results. 
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the problem that you can see in the picture. I cannot select GS. The guide on github helped me to install Pcsx2.

Suikoden IV - water lines on hardware rendering

Hi,
When I use the Hardware Rendering mode, I get some water glitch, take a look - https://imgur.com/CQWAdr7

The issue occurs only on the HW mode, not SW, but on software mode everyting looks soo bad.
My internal resoultion is 1080p

Hey, I'm new to using this emulator, and got an iso file in my computer, but the browse setting does not work for some reason. Could anyone help me? As seen on the image. the browse setting is gray and not functional. Thank you!

1 pixel wide graphical glitch down entire screen

I'm pretty sure its the scaling causing this because this does not happen when playing in software mode or when using hardware native.

The problem I am having is during gameplay, the entire vertical row of pixels on the right are usually just garbled up random colors and garbage depending on whats on the screen.
This is on both the right and the bottom of the AMV's. I don't mind it on the AMV's as much, but during gameplay its very distracting an annoying.

I have spent maybe 5 hours trying tons of options to fix this and nothings working. The only thing I have not messed with is the EE/IOP, VUs, and GS settings. Direct3D11 or Direct3D9 were not a fix for this. I tried literally every individual hardware hack setting and many combinations of them. I tried AVX2, SSE4, and SSE2 2020 plugins, and none of those worked either.

I have only found one thing that helps so far. These temporarily for maybe 10 seconds or so go away if I leave fullscreen and go back into fullscreen. I can also switch to software mode and back with f9. It's not fixing it though, and it comes right back in mere seconds as I start to play the game again. Its too much of a hassle to keep pressing f9 twice every few seconds just to clear it off again.

Obviously I could just play the game at native, but it looks so terrible to me like that and I really want to be able to scale it. Is there anything I may not have thought of that you can think of to fix this?

I am using the newest version 1.6.0

Strange Image Bars

Hi, I recently downloaded the PCSX2 on windows, I thought it'd be great, since RPCS3 runs at 4k 60 fps with no issue at all, but this PS2 emulator has this weird issue, and I can't manage to fix it! Can someone please help? When I start a game, it has those weird looking lines across the screen. I've seen videos of people running these games on emulator, Soulcalibur II and Soulcalibur III in 4K too at widescreen ratio with no issue. I've seen people configuring as best the emulator but I can't take them off, although, to be fair, the games look amazing even with the bars on top of them. I linked 2 screenshots, and these are my specs:

Ryzen 3700X
AMD Radeon RX 5070
16 GB RAM

If anyone can help me to remove those annoying lines would be really appreciated, thanks!

P.s: also, how the heck do I change the language to spanish?

Guitar Hero 3 - Wireless Xbox 360 Guitar

Hi Everyone,

New to PCSX2 and I'm trying to set up my wireless xbox 360 guitar. I was able to set the pad type to guitar and set some binds, but they didn't seem to register at all in game. ie. the first fret is also used as the A button to continue through menus, neither seems to work.The guitar in question is below and i've attached my current settings. Any help with setting would be greatly appreciated.

Too much lag (KH2)

Hello
I'm not really an expert in these kind of things and I searched how to fix it on the internet but i dont really understand anything (not because of language). So if someone can help me here it would be really nice. When I play the game (KH2) it just lags so much, especially when battling Axel for the 2nd time, its almost unplayable how much lag there is.

Here are the specs of my computer:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx  2.60 GHz
Graphics  Card: AMD Radeon ™ Vega 3 Graphics
RAM: 8GB
