Controller not detected in-game

$

Hello,
I started using PCSX2 yesterday, playing Ratchet Gladiator with no problems. As I have finished it, I am now going on the Ace Combat franchise but my controller is not detected in game. I have already browsed some threads like switching to XInput and disabling DirectInput but the game just doesn't want to see my controller. I have tried with a PS4 controller(binds detected as a DX Wireless Controller device) and under DS4 controller(binds detected as XInput pad 0 device) without success . Maybe I am missing something...
Thanks for your help !

PCSX2 Question

Hello all

I was browsing this forum for a bit but could not find answer to my question. I am guessing the answer is no but I still rather ask you all who are more proficient at this than I am.

Tiger Woods 2004 PGA Tour: I am looking to play this game with PCSX2 and will attempt to follow all steps to get it set up. Pretty sure I will be successful at doing so.

Question is: Is this solely a stand alone game on my PC via the emulator or can it also allow for online play with friends?
I suspect it's a no to online play but have to ask.

If no, would there be a way to play PS2 games online with friends via PC emulation?

Thank you in advance gents.

Hey guys, first timer here, I have followed literally EVERY guide, and instruction to the letter, and no cheat I add into the pnach file is working, even taking completed pnach files from online and copying the entire thing to cheats doesn't work.

I've tried everything and I'm at a loss Sad

Here is my pnach file for the game:

gametitle=Champions of Norrath (SLUS_20565)
comment=Widescreen hack by No.47

Only the widescreen hack works, but no other code :'(

Any help is hugely appreciated.

Memory Card Saves

I just played through the first Ratchet and Clank and want to start the next game. On PS2 it used to read your save from the old game and give you items from your old game. How can I get that to work in PCX2? I booted into the BIOS and see both saves on the memory card. I'm using pcsx2-v1.5.0-dev-3043. I looked into mymc but I'm not sure I actually need that since the saves are already there.

Anyone willing to help me with my red stripes issue on PCSX2?

Info:
Version: 1.4.0.
Win10 Education

GTX 1050

First I thought it was V-Sync issue, but can't find anywhere to turn it off.
Tried to change presets few times, didn't work out.
Everything in terms of plugins is on stock.

Anyone had same issue and know how to help me?

There is just too much options so ...

Hello-

I recently ripped a copy of my Champions Of Norrath (Snowblind) onto my computer and I've been having issues with it running smoothly on my Intel Skull NUC6i7KYK; which I bought specifically for emulation.

Champions of Norrath gets noticeably slower whenever a lot of enemies or NPCS  are on the screen and in the forested areas, additionally the sound seems to slow at the same time.  Nothing I have tried has improved the experience.

Every other game I've tried works fine.

Here are the specs of the Intel SKull
  • 6th generation Intel® Core™ i7-6770HQ
  • Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 580
  • 8 GB DDR
  • 250GB SSD
  • Windows 10 Pro 64bit.
  • I running this via HDMI on a 65 inch Sony LCD.

I've tried Psx2 1.4 (binary also) as well as the Psx2 1.5 developer version.
I've also tried Direct3D 11-Hardware/Software and Open GL.  It runs 'best' on Direct3D 11 (Hardware).

Here are my current GS Plugin settings-
  •     The 'adapter' is set to my video card: (Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 580)
  •     Interlacing is listed as  'Automatic (default)'
  •     Texture filtering is listed as  'bilinar/PS2'
  •     I've have 'Allow 8-bit Textures' enabled.
  •     Internal Resolution is listed as  'Native (PS2)'.
  •     Mipmapping/CRC Hack Level is listed as 'Automatic(default)'
  •     I have 'Enable HW Hacks' selected and have 'Fast Texture Invalidation' checked.
  •     I have no speed hacks enabled because I have no idea what they do.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I've attached two screen shots.

Question about Video settings

Hey all, I was just looking to get some general troubleshooting here.

I recently installed the latest PCSX2 1.5.0 build from the Orphis list of automated builds, and
everything was working fine until I went to configure my video settings, and I noticed that the option
to select my graphics card under the adapter tab was grayed out, like here: https://i.imgur.com/pYKeW0K.jpg

I was just wondering if there was any way to get it to show up because I'm not sure if it will have any
effect on my games performance.

I am using a fairly new ROG Gaming Laptop if that helps
Specs:
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050
Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
16 GB Installed RAM
Windows 10

Thanks  Biggrin

GDSX FMV autoswitch + default deinterlacing?

1.5.0 fixes some FMVs by autoswitching to Software mode, but interlacing doesn't carry over from Hardware mode, any workarounds?

SH2[GH] in my case doesn't de-interlace FMVs properly when it goes to SW mode, and I've tried setting Auto/None/Bob before going into the cutscene.

Pynput keyboard inputs interaction with pcxs2

I have a small question that i can't found on internet nor documentations, in brief, i have a python program that's supposed to open pcxs2 (ps2 emulator), it does and it opens the game but ingame the inputs doesn't work.

I'm guessing it is because of the way pcsx2 gets the inputs (image below)

So, in input APIs it have various options, but wich one is the one that uses pynput?

PD: I don't knew where to post this so, i'll post it here and in pcsx2 forum so i can get both POVs and work from there

[Bug Report] Jak and Daxter - A time trial has a time-to-beat of 00.01 seconds.

# PCSX2 version: PCSX2 1.4.0
# CPU options: EE/IOP default, VUs default, speedhacks enabled, game fixes disabled.
# Plugins used: GSdx 20160105132032 (None custom installed)
# Video settings: Attached file on post.
# Description:

In the Precursor Basin stage, there is a time trial you can beat to earn one of the eight power cells in the area. Normally, the time to beat is 45.00 seconds which is manageable, but I have been faced with a time of 00.01 seconds. My theory is that this is one of those tings developers put into a game if it detects an illegitimate copy (as it is being run on an emulator that would be a cause).

Would anyone know how I can work around this? I'd like to do a 100% run and this minor issue is a serious roadblock. I'd even be willing to go into the game code and change the time manually if that is an option.

A technical question regarding IRX modules

This question isn't about any game in particular, but rather about IRX modules.

I'm in the process of seperating a demo from a demo disc.  Yes, I do have the necessary tools.  However, there's one problem I'm running into that I don't have the knowledge to solve.  This specific demo disc has extra IRX modules on the disc that aren't in the PS2's BIOS and only get loaded after reading the disc.  If I try to load the specific demo's ELF executable directly, it won't run because those specific demo disc IRX modules haven't loaded before the demo started.

Is there a way to add IRX files to the normal PCSX2 boot process?  Or would that require a complete rewrite of the emulator?  Because I think that would solve my problem.

Hey guys, totally a newbie at emulating here. I'm trying to emulate a game thats not very popular (because its a bad game but I want to play it for nostalgiac purposes) and the game is showing up fine, but there's some weird things going on. I can't move, only the O button (the attack button) is working and the pause button. The arrow keys work for the menu but not for moving characters... The game is called Spongebob: Battle for Volcano Island and I emailed someone who has emulated it before but just in case posting here as well. My specs are: Op system: Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad e570 16 gb ram 64 bit operating system GPU intel graphics 620 Processor: Intel Core i5 - 7200U CPU @ 2.5 Ghz - 2.7 Ghz. Everything is at default settings, using a software renderer (direct 3d11) which fixed invisible characters but not moving problem, using CDVD with usb discplayer, using lilypad with arrow keys as d pad and Regular keyboard letters as other buttons. Not using MTVU as I have a dual core processor, using windows messaging for both apis and direct input, plugin is selected for cdvd. Any pointers?

Hello,

I have a Cutscene Problem with Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria where the Party is in Dipan Castle.
The Cutscene starts but when Alicia, Rufus and Dylan are further entering into the Room
the Camera does not follow them and remains focused to the Entrance Door.First i
thought my Patch would cause the error but it doesn't.So it also happens when i
turn off pnach cheats.I skip the Sequence to progress but i have to do it
several times because the Screen remains black.Someone else ran into this
Problem and solved ?

ive just setup pcsx2 on my machine and had some good tests with resident evil 4, i really want to play stand alone complex but im having some troubles.

i can get through the menus just fine but as soon as i load into the training level its frozen apart from the audio apparently. no movment on screen or any evident response from controller, i can still hear audio and im not getting any indication of slow down or capping on my hardware etc

im running a gtx 1060 with 16GB ram and an i7 processor... any ideas whats causing this?

Many thanks guys and girls Smile

Not using GPU with Bumblebee

Hi everyone.  I'm running into an issue where PCSX2 is using the integrated gpu on my Intel i7 processor on my laptop instead of my discrete NVIDIA gpu.  Here's my specs:

OS: Fedora 28 x86_64
GPU: NVIDIA 740M
CPU: Intel i7-4702MQ
PCSX2 version: 1.5.0-dev-3126-g2941fd9b8 (git pull from today)
GPU Driver: 418.56 (proprietary)
RAM: 16 GB

I built the software with the command: build.sh --release --clean
It compiles and runs, but when I launch with: primusrun bin/PCSX2, optirun -b primus bin/PCSX2, or using bin/PCSX2-linux.sh games run slowly.  I have the GS plugin set to OpenGL(Hardware).  The log shows:
Code:
Opening plugins...

Current Renderer: OpenGL (Hardware renderer)
which clearly shows the discrete GPU is not being used.  Other applications launched with primusrun or optirun -b primus do utilize the GPU (like glxgears and glxspheres).  Does anyone have any suggestions?  This used to work perfectly with primusrun in the past.  Thank you!

Persona 3 won't start anymore

I downloaded Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES and started it just to see if it was working. The intro movie started playing, so i assumed it was and closed it. Later i started it again, , but the movie didn't play this time. It was just a black screen. It happens everytime i start the game now, i even tried uninstalling it and installing again, still the same problem.
It's the only game i have downloaded that has this problem, all the others start normally. Also, just to recap, the first time i started it it worked, but never again.
This is probably a very common problem, so if there's already a thread just for this, please link to it.

I am a recent user of Linux Mint and I came across a problem, I like to play with the window stretched, but when I select the option in emulation settings, it does not have the button to apply, so how do I exit by clicking on the close button the unsaved option and the game runs only at 4.3. Is there a solution?
