ICO [PAL] main gate opening - freeze

Game:  ICO [PAL]
PCSX2 version: Official v1.4.0 release.  Ubuntu PPA (Ubuntu linux 18.04 x86_64)
CPU options: EE/IOP defaults, VUs defaults (also tested: EE/IOP clamping to Full, VUs clamping to Extra+Preserve sign)
Plugins used: GS: GSdx (GCC 5.3.1, SSE2) 1.0.0 [libGSdx-1.0.0], PAD:  v 1.1.0 [libonepad-1.1.0], SPU2-X 2.0.0 [libspu2x-2.0.0]
Description: On Yorda opening the main gate (2nd time, when glowing), the game freezes on the video. It has not frozen at any time before then. Screenshot attached. No hacks were used.  I tried using the PCSX2 unstable 1.5.0 version, but it would not load any saved games.

Is there any other debug output I can attach?

MGS2 Substance on Mac

Hi all,

I'm completely new to PCSX2 and it's the first time I'm using it, having so far been playing solely with other emulators such as OpenEmu and Dolphin, thus I'm no expert about it. That said, I hope I can find here some info on how to solve the issue affecting the title stated in subject.

In short, MGS2 Substance running on the 1.4.0 version of PCSX installed on my MacBook Pro experiences massive slows during the Codec conversations and the gameplay, while it works without any issue during the cutscenes.

In order to make it easier for you to try help me, I'm attaching screenshots (see link, the forum didn't allow me to upload images in the thread) of my MacBook specs, the graphic settings of PCSX2 (which I haven't touched at all since installing it) and the parts of the game affected by the slow down:

Onimusha 2 - Samurais Destiny Help

Its been a few years since ive been on here, and im trying to use codes for Onimusha 2. I have heavily restricted access to internet anymore and was wondering if someone could help me with codes for the USA version of the game. Only ones i seem to find are not for this version. My game is as follows: Onimusha 2 - Samurais Destiny - SLUS 20393 1.3. I already have the pnach created, but the codes ive tried dont work. I also dont have access to omni, so i cant just DL from gamefaqs and convert. Any and all help is appreciated, as i played up to the first jujudorma encounter, and accidently hit save state instead of load state, so im starting over and pretty much just want infinite enhancement. BUt other codes would be cool too. Again, any help is appreciated, truly it is.

CRC - DC05EC31 (Though the Emu loads 00000000 on start-up)

Issue: Though I've gotten some cheats to work in-game, namely the EXP Multiplier and Money Multiplier Cheats found here (http://www.codemasters-project.net/membe...cturne.txt), none of the other cheats I want to use seem to work. The cheats in the link are already in RAW format, so they don't need converting; and it isn't an issue of PAL/JAP/US region differences, so I'm wondering if anyone in the forum can help a brother out.

The cheats I'm trying to get to work are:

1) -=Total Accumulated Exp Mod=- (Any of these, I'm just posting the first one to keep the thread short)

Reserve Monster 1 Exp mod

(With this one, I've tried using Cheat Engine to convert the #s I want into Hex, but no matter what I try nothing seems to happen in game)

Trying to get the speed right after trying everything

For some reason I can't get any game to stop slowing down when (from what I can gather) a larger amount of rendering.

My current rig:
FX-8350
RX 580 8GB
1920x1080

3D Mark and all other programs/games run fine so it's gotta be my settings not the hardware.

I've tried everything. OpenGL, DX11, DX9, software, hardware, updated and older plugins, speedhacks, window size, etc. I'm hoping that I'm just skipping a setting. It seems to have better results when I increase the EEC by one or two. MTVU is enabled.

For a specific game example, Ratchet and Clank. Should be fine so long as I have mipmapping on basic in hardware mode. It is, except for this problem where it slows down the more it has to render. Only happens in-game, not in menus or cutscenes.

My hardware usage is no more than 50% for both components.

Hi, im playing shining force EXA and using savestate the whole time I cannot save because it says in game "Memory Card Formatting Failed". 
My problem is in order to proceed to post-game, I need to save in game in my savestate but it says formatting failed.

Spyro - Enter the Dragonfly in-game lag

Hi!

I tried to read as much as possible before posting not to seem like an a**hat, but couldn't find a solution to this exact problem.

I recently bought a new laptop which is definitely powerful enough to run PCSX2 games, and it did, aside from this one game, Spyro - Enter the Dragonfly.
Spyro: A Hero's Tail ran just fine, same with Rayman M. (all ISO)

Menu and new game/load game is fine, the loading screen where Spyro flies is fine too, but once in-game, it's really sluggish despite saying I have 50-60 fps.

Tried all renderer options, enabling 8-bit textures, HW hacks, did select gtx1060 6gb as the main adapter. Resolution native.

Any help is appreciated, early Spyro games were part of my childhood, I just want to play this last one somehow..


Using the latest version, PCSX2 1.4.0.

Specs are:

Core i7-8750H (2,2 up to 4,1GHz)
16GB DDR4
1TB + 256GB SSD
nVidia GTX1060 6GB DDR5

Silent Hill 2 - how to remove film grain?

How to remove the film grain in Silent Hill 2? The grain was initially impressive, but without fog (I've reached the apartments) it becomes evident that the effect masks Team Silent's original artwork.

If you know a method for any other PS2 Silent Hill games, feel free to share. I won't play the PC version because it doesn't have original fog and soft shadows (the other missing or incomplete features can apparently be modded in), please don't recommend playing on PC.

Configuring Controller To PCSX2

So i have this issue(as seen in the pictures below at the bottom of the pictures) where when i try to add the controlls from my ps2/ps3/pc (no clue why it says its an xbox 360 controller below)controller it wont let me "add" additional controls.It justs overwrites the specific one.Now the thing is i dont even CLICK or rather PRESS the button like i did when configuring controls for my keyboard it just automaticly adds the control so if i click on the right side square for example it automaticly shows that square is bound to square on the left without me actually pressing square on my controller.Idk whats wrong cause when i press to "test device" and use the controller and press up for example it shows me im pressing up or when i press square its showing i press square e.t.c but when i try to keybind those it wont let me like i said ADD additional stuff it just overwrites 1 specific command over and over again depending on what i "select" with my mouse on the right side of the window and im confused again since controller seems to be fine it works fine but i cant add the keys in order to play some games with my controller cause its a pain to play those with my keyboard.Hope someone can help me to solve this.Thanks in advance for reading.

I'm getting runtime error whenever I open a game

Hello. So yeah, if I open a game  on my laptop (Fruit fall in my case), I get these 2 errors:

For some reason on log from previous launch said "some kinda plugin falure" with padpokopom. It no longer says it so whatever.


There are several things to try which I mostly haven't tried yet (I also dont want to ***** my laptop up) such as:

1) install vc++ 2015 x86 (by jesalvein) - shouldn't I get x64 version instead?
2) remove AVX plugin (by flatout) - I actually tried this and it didn't work.
3) install DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) (by topken, same thread)
4) update DirectX somehow -- could this help??
5) DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer (by refraction) - I'm too tired, is this the same as 3)? On the website it says it's only up to DirectX 9.0c and not newer versions, my DirectX is 11, so what?


Which of these would you advise me to do? Or is there some other thing to try? Also do I need to reset my computer after I try any of these things?

Hi, I'm fairly new to this and need some help, I'm trying to play Toca Race Driver 3 and experiencing fps issues. When I'm in the menus the fps and game run fine but when I try to select a car or try to race the fps and game speed go down. I don't know if my computer is up to par or I'm just stupid, help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

USB Keyboard Detection Issue

im fairly new to this emulator so bare with with me

my laptop's keyboard is extremely wack so i got another keyboard today.
i wanted to play the jojo game for the ps2. so i bind all the keys using the new keyboard
for WHATEVER REASON it doesnt detect my controls
if anyone can help id be greatful. its a blackweb usb keyboard. it wont detect my mouse or touchpad either.

Megaman X collection Issue

Hi, I recently downloaded pcsx2, installed all BIOS and wanted to play the megaman x collection. I got so far as:

I click on run CDVD
It zooms in dramatically in all it's PS2 glory
I get the message that "System data successfully loaded from the memory card (8MB)(for Playstation2) in MEMORY CARD slot 1.
It's stuck there and no matter what I press, nothing happens.

Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong? I tried a few different graphic settings but they clearly weren't the issue. I've looked through some threads for the same problem, though I can't find it. Help?

Is a Dell XPS 9570 not enough

I got a Dell ultrabook a couple months back, that runs the i7 8750H and 1050ti. Yet i get bad results when running games at 3x native. I enabled optimisations and some settings, and the games i want and have trouble running are GOW1-2 and FFX. Is it a game specific issue, is m laptop throttling, or is it not enough for these games?

I can tell you what preferences i use specifically

Low Speed (60 %) for any PS2 game

Hi guys,

I am new in the group but I have read some of the recommended threads, so I apologize if this question may sound repetitive.
I am trying to play NBA Ballers at PCSX2 at the moment and the maximum speed I can get during in-game is 60%. However, the game is running full speed at the menu and other parts of the game. My emulator version (1.4.0) should be compatible with this game (I've checked the compatibility thread here) and I have also tried to change the settings and the speed hacks (I could get 60% speed at the level 6).
Is there anything I should do to improve the speed at least just a little bit? Maybe do you now any other thread I should look for to improve my speed?

By the way, my laptop is an Intel Core i7-5500U CPU @ 2.4 GHz; 8 GB Ram memory
