Did anybody ever ask this question? We need more convience!

A question I got for the Ubuntu/rasPi systems using pcsx2 is, do we have any type of frontend or something so I don't have to set up every single game over and over again when I switch between games often? And if there is, does it have a noGUI option so we don't have to go through two menus to launch a game from emulationstation? If there is one, post it here, but if there isn't someone please help make one. This will be helping a lot of people if there isn't one already. Wacko

Rom Hacks and Widescreen patches

I haven't seen a single forum or thread anywhere on this topic, I like to mod my ps2 isos and experiment with different patches and rom hacks, for example, Persona 3 Undub, Persona 4 Undub, Nocturne Chronicles Edition, Nocturne Hard Mode, and Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix English patch.
the problem is, whenever I do rom hack these isos the widescreen patch doesn't seem to work on them with the exception of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix.
I don't know if this is specifically a problem with Megami Tensei isos or what, but I can't seem to get widescreen patches to work on modded versions of them.

Hi, using ntsc version of Tales of The Abyss, however I get ghosting. I have tried everything mentioned in this post -https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Tales-of-the-Abyss-Ghosting-Cheats-Help- but it still continues to ghost once I leave the mansion. Any solutions? PC specs are i7 6700k-gtx1070-crucial mx500 ssd-msi motherboard.

Resident Evil Dead Aim - Sync Timeout

Hi all. I've been playing through Resident Evil Dead Aim (USA version) on PCSX2 1.4, and it all works absolutely fine until I reach a specific area of the game. This area is on the heliport of the ship when you fight the Tyrant, and the countdown has started.

The fight starts okay, but within a random amount of time (usually 30 seconds or so, but it seems linked to how much I move the character around), the ship artefacts/textures suddenly start disappearing, and everything slows down to the equivalent of one frame per second. The PCSX2 console starts filling up with the following repeatably every second:

Code:
libdma: sync timeout
!!! skip dma callback polling.
sceGsSyncPath: DMA Ch.1 does not terminate

<D1_CHCR=30000145:D1_TADR=01bb1830:D1_MADR=00a76fe0:D1_QWC=0000000b>

<D2_CHCR=70000005:D2_TADR=01b00090:D2_MADR=01b000a0:D2_QWC=00000000>

<VIF1_STAT=0b000cc3:GIF_STAT=00000000>

I don't suppose anyone has experienced this before, and know of a fix? I've tried tweaking all my graphics settings, changing from Direct3D9 to all the others (including OpenGL), enabling and disabling hacks etc, but it always behaves the same way.

Thanks all!

Silent Hill 2 Iso not loading

Hello! I am currently trying to run an iso of Silent Hill 2 on PCSX2 1.4.0 and it is not getting past the first loading screen. I'll go into the game, select new game and set the difficulties. After that it goes to the first loading screen. Whenever I get here however, the game never loads and I notice in the console I get the same error message over and over again. "CDVD READ ERROR, sector = 0x000f1a76" I looked around on the internet for solutions. I didn't see anyone with my particular problem, but I found some general solutions. First, I tried updating my drivers as that was a common thing I heard said and I thought it was worth a try. So I went in, updated them and...nothing. I then tried screwing around with the video settings, I switched out the renderers from Direct3D11, Direct3D9 and Open Gl. None of them made any difference. I then tried to Uninstall and Reinstall PCSX2 as maybe I messed up some setting and that would reset it. And that did nothing. I thought maybe it was a bad iso of the game but then I remembered that it was working perfectly a few months ago when I first got it. I'm not really sure what else to do and if anyone has some suggestions on how to fix this that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Slow Gameplay and Sound

Hi guys.

I am getting very slow gameplay and sound on any PS2 games.  I've been trying to get NFL Blitz Pro and NHL Hitz to work but I've had no luck.  The menus are fine but as soon as the actual game starts it gets REAL slow and the announcers and noise sound like its in slow motion.  Can anyone tell me if my PC specs are ok?  Or if you have any recommendations?

Transferring data on PS3 virtual memory card to PCSX2

Hello,

After going in circles for few hours, reading posts and trying to find a similar case as mine, I've just assumed that I've got stuck.

This thread matches my case.

I want to transfer the MGS2 PS2 Classic Savedata played on my PS3 to be continued when travelling in my laptop by using PCsX2. I manage to find the save data in dev_hddo/home/UserNumber/savedata/GameFolder to mi external USB, however what I find in this folder is nothing like what I read in forums. I can't see VME files, nor PSV, but all I see are as follows:

DATA.BIN
ICONO.PNG
MASTER.BIN
PARAM.PFD
PARAM.SFO

Any idea how to use this files to transfer them to play on PCSX2?

Thanks

Insert Disc Error

Hi Everyone,

Just downloaded PCSX2 and was very stoked to get playing. So I downloaded Kingdom Hearts and GTA (they are .7z files) and I can open up PCSK just fine, upload the bio provided when I downloaded and then when I go to select the game as an iso it starts the regular PS2 screen and then says to insert a disc. I've read up on downloading imgburn, but I was wondering if there was a way to get around this? I'm currently trying to download a .rar file to see if it's the file type. Any suggestions?

Cant remap analog sticks for Armored Core 2

Right now movement and the camera are controlled by the d pad which is very annoying. Im trying to remap my right and left on the d pad and my right sticks left and right. It seems to map fine in the config, but then once i go into the game it wont work. I set the select button to mimic the analog button and still nothing. Any help is appreciated!

Im running lilypad 0.11.0 and pcsx2 1.4.0.

I'm having this exact problem but I'd rather not add another thread to spam the same issue needlessly, so let's dig this baby out of the graveyard.

I HAVE noticed that when I switched it over to Pokopom that the analog sticks DO work, but only in the Nerves Concord menu. When it comes to the actual piloting in game, however, they're non-functioning. Clicking the thumb sticks still triggers the L3 and R3 buttons, but I get no movement for either my AC or my camera.

I'm ALSO running PCSX2 1.4.0.

Xenosaga 2 black square floor glitch

The issue occurs to varying degrees in different areas.  Some areas are unaffected, while others have up to around 50% of the floor covered in a flat black square that stays at the same relative proximity to the main character.  It does not occur in battles or FMVs.  If I am loading a save in an area that shows the glitch, the glitch will not be present until I leave and re-enter that area.  In rare cases, pressing F9 to switch back and forth from software mode will fix the glitch until I come out of a battle and then I press F9 over again to fix it.  I have found that when CRC is set to aggressive (very common in settings I see online) that objects with height like rocks will pop in and out of view through the black square, and that is the best I have been able to do when tweaking every setting in both OpenGL and DX11.  OpenGL is the winner due to showing clouds in the main map of the Kukai Foundation and I am certain it fixes more than that.  I will have to test out Xenosaga 3 some more due to the fact I was only able to get the opening sequence looking completely correct in DX11, but I did not go much farther than that to verify problems past the first 20min of the game, and I would assume both games to be relatively the same, but maybe I am wrong.  Randomly in Xenosaga 2, running in DX11 mode will cause the game to alternate frames by 1 pixel horizontally causing a constant shake and flickering of lights as if it is trying to cause me to go into a seizure.  I have tested all hacks in HW Hacks including half-pixel offset, sprite, and round sprite options.  CRC, Accurate Date, and Blending Unit Accuracy in DX11 and OpenGL.

Hello!  I am using 1.4.0, and I pulled a file from online for KH Cheats.  I have been trying to activate them, but they will not work.  I've attached the file that I've placed in both cheats and cheats_ws.  I have also marked "Enable Cheats," but still, none of the cheats works.  Help would be great!

Jak and Daxter - PCSX2_VM.ini

$

Hey there, I have a low spec computer but I have completed some games such as Clock Tower 3 and Maximo.  I say that so I know it's not all a lost cause.  I recently discovered that if you edit the max framerate (PAL for me) in the VM.ini, it can have different effects on certain games.  For example, if I change the framerate to 10.00 and try to play Jak and Daxter, it still runs at 50 by using a frameskip method (not pressing Tab, so no Turbo), obviously at 10 it's very heavily skipping around, but it's best for test purposes.  Now, if I try Tekken Tag with the same setup, it runs at exactly 10FPS but doesn't skip any frames, instead it resorts to going into a very slow motion type of play.

Before modifying the VM.ini, I played Jak and Daxter and noticed that I can only run the game at around 40 (instead of 50) FPS which runs a little slower than usual.  After modifying the VM.ini to say the max PAL framerate is 35, it plays at full speed, just using a type of frame skip and it's perfectly playable.

My question is, is there anyway to force Tekken Tag (and other games) to work the same way?  Instead of going into slow motion, it just pretends like 35 FPS is the max and plays at 50FPS speed?  I also wonder why the exact same setup causes two different outcomes, but if that's how this all works then hey, better than nothing, I can still play Jak and Daxter.  Laugh

TLDR; Modifying the VM.ini to say the PAL's max framerate is 35 causes Jak and Daxter to run at 50 by skipping frames.  Using the same method, Tekken uses slow-down and renders every single frame at 35.  I'd like to understand more?

Thank you.

PCSX2 has a flawed release schedule

I've been using Citra emulator a lot for my 3DS games and I believe that PCSX2 could benefit from a different release schedule. PCSX2 version 1.4.0 is almost 2 and a half years old while the development versions continue being released everyday. I don't understand why the developers of this emulator wait years to release features and improvements to the emulator just so they can be bundled up in one grand release. Meanwhile Citra's Canary build (their "stable" releases) has been 100% stable for me with improvements being added to it almost everyday. Their nightly releases are their developmental releases which serve the same purpose as PCSX2's development builds. I've been enjoying new tested and tried features while with PCSX2 I only have two options, use an unstable build that is prone to crashes or use a 1.4.0 "stable" release which is over 2 and a half years old.

I'm not here to bash everyone that contributes to this emulator but hopefully open some eyes to a better release structure that might add a "Semi-stable" release of PCSX2. Are there really absolutely zero improvements that couldn't be added to the 1.4.0 release over this time to not make it so archaic?

Sorry if I come off as confrontational. That is not my intention with this post. I appreciate all the people that work on this emulator everyday. Some constructive criticism is all. Thank you

Star Ocean Till the End of Time Shrine of Kaddan

Ok, so I've been looking all over the forum and it seems no one has the same problem as me before. I'm currently at the Shrine of Kaddan just before Crystal Cerberus. I've learned that there's some sort of an earthquake, I already trigger it, already went to every hidden room before Crystal Cerberus.

But every time I enter a fight mode, not just a fight mode with Crystal Cerberus, my characters' HP always decreasing automatically, and I don't know what happened.

At first, I thought its because of the cheats and speedhack, so I disable all of it, even the automatic game fixes, but it still happens. I even watched some of Crystal Cerberus' fight video, and this problem didn't happen in their gameplay
