Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter, code help.

$

I don't wanna have to constantly post my issue all over pnach compilation thread so I've figured I may as well start an unique thread to see if someone can assist me with an issue.

There is this code

3ZAW-XP94-43HYD
XY88-2QTY-UGM48

Simply put the code adds Bosch into your party into the 3rd slot of your party, for me this character is Lin. I've converted the code and placed it within the pnach, this is the layout of my pnach to show I've placed the code correctly.

gametitle=Breath of Fire V Dragon's Quarter [SLES_514.96] (PAL)

//3rd Slot is Bosch(playable)

patch=1,EE,00769922,word,0000003F

When I start the ISO, I'm not receiving any address errors of any kind but as soon as I get to loading the game, I'll either get a hanged game just as it's about to load it'll CTD, if I choose to move Bosch to other slots I'll get the same thing happen with exclusion being the 1st slot, It'll crash but I'll get an assertion error which gives me an option of ignoring it but that doesn't seem to do anything.  Glare

Having Trouble Playing My Favorite PS2 Game :/

I have tried playing a couple of games now(medal of honor series, killzone, Fifa Street 1 & 2) and eventually I got down to the game I REALLY wanted to get this emulator for!
Freekstyle!
Love it but can't find a similar product for PC/newer consoles.

So It's either this or nothing Wink

To describe my issue:
The game runs great and looks great graphically(compared to the other games I've tried which all had massive graphical issues & in case of fifa street would not even boot to the menu)
The only issue is this:
There's invisible walls EVERYWHERE
Walls that show the boundary(of the map) get an extension of about half a meter further than intended into the map(invisible, seems to vary slightly between respawns & restarts of the map:
There are some jumps that require you to go through a ring of fire or over a massive object back onto the road, those seem to vary the most, sometimes you can NOT pass over them or through them, sometimes you can), and some jumps require you to go over it at a weirdly specific location or specific speed or you will crash into a massive invisible wall.

So far I have been able to work around it and have gotten to the Gnome stage, however here there is a jump that just... has no openings, it is blocked on both sides of the jump, sometimes you get through the first one, only to have a 100% chance to crash into the second one.
It respawns you a bit back so you're forced to try it again.. and again.. and again..
it is one of the few areas that offer no second route(that usually works)
and now I am completely stuck.

I've tried reloading the game, I've tried changing how it handles double values(tried em all on both settings panels) but this seems to have no impact on the issue at all.
.
FYI:
I have read the general troubleshooting thread, I have found no related issue in there.
I OWN the game, If need be I can show a picture of the games box.
My PC is up to snuff: I either play on a GTX 1050 I7-7700HQ 16GB RAM
OR A GTX 1070 I7-6700HQ 16GB RAM).
I Have also ripped the disk a couple of times, just to make sure no issue occurred there to cause the wall issue.
If need be I can upload a video displaying the issue in detail, please request that if you need it to aid me better Wink

P.S.
I am sort of desperate about this and hope someone here knows a magic trick to make the issues vanish Wink
If not I will probably be forced to buy a new used ps2 :/
My old one lacks a cable by now (had to borrow one from a buddy to extract the bios from mine) :s

[Bug Report] Street Fighter EX3 [NTSC-J]

PCSX2 Version: 1.5.0-dev-2214
CPU options: Default, but tried all clamping modes etc.
Plugin used: GSdx (GCC 7.2.0 AVX2/AVX2) 1.1.0 [libGSdx]  OPENGL Hardware

OS: Manjaro KDE
GPU: GTX 680

Game works perfectly in software mode.  In hardware mode you get an oversized transparent ghost of the image halfway down the screen.  This happens regardless of internal resolution or other settings.

Interestingly this can be resolved on the NTSC-U version of the game by setting "Automatic CRC Level" to Full or Aggressive.  Setting this on the NTSC-J version of the game does nothing to resolve the problem though.

Controller Setup Issue

Hi Guys, When I setup my controller(Xbox 360 USB) to the program it seems fine, all binding work correctly, except for the left stick that for some reason when left alone will force the character to walk very slowly left and when making the character move right it moves at a slow pace compared to other directions. the first image shows my settings, second show the input received without using the controller, and then the last image is when i`ve used the sticks.
if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Applying patches

Hi! I know this might be the thousand time a thread like this has been posted, so I apologize if my google fu skills are worthless, but here's my problem.

When trying to play Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, the screen freezes at the start of the first company logo screen.

When going through the Wiki-page for it, it says that there's a patch that solves it all, I download it and I google how to do the patching, but I get nowhere.
One thread here says that I should put them in the folder marked "Patches", but I don't have a folder for that. Another thread says that I should put the pnach files in the "Cheats" folder and then activate cheats in the PCSX2 System-menu.
I do that as well, but nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong here?

It's PCSX2 1.4.0, if that's any good info.

Hey ppl,

got some issues with my PlayStation4-Controller. Yesterday everything worked fine, but now it seems that the emulator don't want to recognize my gamepad, even when my controller shows up at the "Device Diagnostics" as "DX Wireless Controller". I can't bind the buttons anymore. Tried to reinstall, but it didn't help Sad
Does someone know how to handle that, or has the same problem?
Looking forward for some help!! Was about to get all characters in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 again Dx

I've spent multiple hours browsing threads and trying what they said; downloading specials builds, trying different plugins, etc. but nothing helped me. I'm getting pretty frustrated, and I would certainly appreciate some help if anyone would be so kind. I'm perfectly willing to start from scratch!

Thank you!

Trouble with Tony Hawk's underground 2

$

Hey, I may be new to these forums but not to the pcsx2 emulator. For the past day I have been tweaking with the pcsx2 video and emulation settings trying to get a steady 58 to 60 fps on thug2. I tried and tried to no avail, Until last night I finally tweaked the settings enough to run thug2 at least 56fps. Before I was only getting 45fps. I mean I can run thug2 in native resolution, but it looks like crap. Now I will go on the record and say that I can run Tony Hawk's Underground 1 at a perfect 60fps with no input delay or slowdown at all even with 2x native resolution checked. But on thug2 for some reason I have to keep going into video settings and checking then rechecking the "enable large frame buffer" box for it to speed up. For example if I start up the game, it will only run at 45fps until I go into video settings and check then recheck the large frame buffer box. When the level loads it runs at a decent 56fps, but once I go back to the menu and start another level it slows down again, and I have to keep repeating the process... It is very strange and annoying. Any suggestions?

I have a Nvidia GT 730 graphics card with 6134 of total video memory, and 2048 of dedicated video memory. Also AMD Quad-Core FX-4300 processor at 3.80GHz.

Help me please "Trouble on graphics Black Hawk Down"

Need help with creating pnach file (game fix)

$

Hello, I managed to run one of games marked as "broken" in wiki (https://wiki.pcsx2.net/Ice_Age_2:_The_Meltdown). I did it by applying patch directly to ISO. But then I realized that patch hit main executable of game. So in theory i can just patch ee memory with pnach to make it work, right? Nope. I'm not too much into pcsx2 scene, but I used pcsx2 many times to other researches, mainly to find secrets of ps3 to ps2 emulation. So i fully understand (i think..) most common pnaches that hits EE memory. But for some reason i can't get it to work correctly with pnach, but i got it running better by patching ISO.

Long story short:

Change in ISO:

70 FF BD 27 6C 00 06 24 70 00 BF FF 2D 20 A0 03

to

E0 FE BD 27 6C 00 06 24 70 00 BF FF 2D 20 A0 03

And

2D 10 A0 03 70 00 BF DF 08 00 E0 03 90 00 BD 27

to

2D 10 A0 03 70 00 BF DF 08 00 E0 03 20 01 BD 27

Make game run much better than (EEC195CA - iso 26EF269A):

Code:
gametitle=Ice Age 2 (US)
comment= SLUS_213.07
//Intro screen freeze fix
patch=1,EE,002FEB80,word,27bdfee0
patch=1,EE,002FEBBC,word,27bd0120

Assuming that patch=1 isn't problem because ISO patch make basically the same (?), i have no idea what is wrong.

Test place: First company movie
Patched iso: ~60 fps
Pnached iso: ~25 fps
Clean ISO: not reached, freeze before movie.

I'm doing something wrong? Anyway, both ways make game playable Excl. I didn't tested it too much. Patch is coming from $ony HQ (ps3 to ps2 emulator), so it should be playable till the end, testers are welcome.
Any help appreciated! Smile
ps. Not sure is good place to post, but only other place on forum I found is dev discussion, where I can't post.

Edit: Sorry I forgot, PCSX2 version 1.4.0 - settings most default with all speedhacks enabled excl. Fast CDVD. Other settings default.

PCSX2 Version: 1.5.0-dev-2214 (and any other release)
CPU options: Default.

Plugin used: GSdx (GCC 7.2.0 AVX2/AVX2) 1.1.0 [libGSdx]  OPENGL Hardware

OS: Manjaro KDE
GPU: GTX 680

There is a bug where you get invisible walls that stop you from progressing, this happens regardless of settings or graphics plugin/settings.  Likely some sort of math/rounding inaccuracy.
I don't know if a GS dump would be any use but can provide one if needed.  Also happens in the (I'm assuming) NTSC-U or PAL releases, see here.

PSX Memory Card Compatibility

$

The Situation
For anyone unaware, the 1.5.0 development builds have basic support for PSX games, and on the newer builds this includes the ability to create and use PSX memory cards. However, the SIO implementation (the subsystem that handles controller and memory card input/output) is not completely accurate for PSX and as a result some games still cannot interact with PSX memory cards. So, to figure out why and how to solve it, I figure a list could help.

Possible DIY Fixes
If you have a PSX game that seems to have problems saving or loading with PSX memory cards, here's some quick things to try before declaring it broken:
  • If your PSX card isn't formatted yet, try doing this through the PS2 BIOS instead of having the game format it.
  • Try booting your game with the PSX memory card already inserted. If save/load fails, then try booting your game without the PSX card inserted, but insert it before you save/load.
  • Pay attention to your PCSX2 console and look for messages about auto ejecting. If you see auto eject messages show up right when you hit a save/load button, disable auto eject in the memory cards menu and try again (Remember to re-enable this when you're done! Leaving this off can cause problems when using savestates). If no immediate change, try rebooting the game and doing a save/load still with auto eject disabled.
Note that these "fixes" are about 95% pure ****ing magic and 5% bullying things into submission, so your results may vary.

How You Can Help
Leave a reply! I'm making a list here of games both successful and failures. The end goal here is that if we can catalog which games have problems, we know which games to test with and can pinpoint what exactly is wrong and how to go about fixing it. For a reply, please include the game's...
  • Title
  • Region
  • If the game is capable of formatting a PSX memory card
  • If the game is capable of loading from a PSX memory card
  • If the game is capable of saving to a PSX memory card
  • If any of the above are not an explicit "yes", then please share the results of the DIY "fixes" (please share for each "fix" if the problem persisted or was resolved).

The Games List
An alphabetical list of games. Click the name of a game to jump to the reply for it.

Working: No problems to report, no "fixes" needed, no reason to think something is wrong.
Fixable: Problems exist, but some combination of "fixes" makes it work as intended.
Broken: Something is not behaving as it should, and is either partially or completely broken.

Effect not rendered correctly

$

Hello everyone and forgive me by advance because i'm gonna talk about something that has been dealt with but I think there is more to it so please read.

The problem lies withing EVERY GAME and is an essential part of graphics in all PS2 games, and hasn't been rendered correctly by PCSX2 since the beginning.

Personally I'd love to be able to benefit from this in Final fantasy X and XII games, in Burnout 3 or in Shadow of the Colossus...

I'm talking about the effect that looks like a misplaced transparent copy of some objects and makes everything look bad, and can be bypassed by setting skipdraw to 1.

It actually looks very bad, but that's because it shouldn't look like it. instead of being a transparent copy of things, it should be a blurry, bleeding transparent gloom around objects and we can see what it looks like by watching the tutorial at the beginning of Burnout 3 or playing on a real PS2... But I'd really like it if a developer would try to fix this instead of bypassing it with skipdraw.

Thanks

here are ingame captures so you can see how it looks like on the original PS2 (muscle car) and on the PC with software rendered, then Direct3D11 with and without skipdraw (super car)

In progressive rosacea, inflammatory papules and pustules develop, especially in the midface. Sebaceous glands increase or become hyperplastic, which can manifest as swelling in the area of the nose (rhinophyma). What percentage of German women suffer from couperose? In the population over 30 years, the prevalence is 22%, so that rosacea is the most common skin disease at all. Women are more frequently affected, but the disease tends to be more severe in men. What do you recommend for those affected? Important is a timely treatment of vascular dilations and incipient blemishes. In more advanced, inflammatory forms, in addition to topical treatment, an anti-inflammatory treatment should be given initially with low-dose antibiotics. If the skin condition improves, redness and vascular dilatation can be treated with the laser, which also reduces the frequency of inflammatory papules. Because the rosacea is worsened by UV radiation, affected patients should only go protected in the sun. Trigger factors, such as hot drinks, spicy foods and alcohol, as well as the change between heat and cold outside temperatures (eg sauna) should be reduced or avoided. Which laser best removes couperose? Telangiectases can be treated with diode lasers, KTP lasers or yellow lasers, whereby the yellow lasers are optimally adapted to the absorption spectrum of hemoglobin, whereby the side effects are particularly low. For diffuse, surface redness, a flash lamp treatment is recommended. What do women have to expect after the laser treatment?
