Issues using cheats.

I boot up Kingdom Hearts 2 final mix, I look toward the command console to see if my pnatch loaded and it says 0 cheats loaded, not sure whats going on there. I made the pnatch a long time ago and it worked just fine back a year ago, only thing is I had to delete the iso file for the game, I re-downloaded it again, made sure it had the same CRC code and I have it named properly but nothing works. Ive changed the codes used more used less and same result. could I get some help with this? if need be I can post the contents of the pnatch file.

Swapping disc crashes PCSX2

(note: I posted this somewhere else, but as it didn't get attention, I made it it's own topic - I also removed and added some info as opposed to the original post)

There seems to be an issue where CodeBreaker v10 (hereafter named CB v10) locks up PCSX2 (either 1.4.0 or the latest GIT builds) with certain games. I've thusfar managed to limit it down to a single moment where it seems to happen. The following steps and/or info I have to reproduce the problem:

  • BIOS version does not seem to matter
  • CB v10 tells it's the game Rez to PCSX2 (according to the GameDB)
  • CB v10 is PAL/NTSC
  • Auto-eject has been turned off @ CB v10 (in-game option), but this does not seem to make a difference
  • After selecting cheats, I activate the CB v10 prompt to swap the disc (and using the PCSX2 option to swap ISO)
  • An example of a working game would be Grandia 3 (NTSC, SLUS_213.34 // 0x5B657DAD) - The game boots and works
  • Again, starting from zero (restarting PCSX2 itself) - but this time I'm selecting Shin Megami Tensei : Nocturne (NTSC, SLUS_209.11 // 0xE8FCF8EC)
  • Again, selecting cheats and take it to the CB v10 prompt to swap the disc (and use the PCSX2 option to swap ISO)
  • From here on out, I notice that the games that do not work conjure up this notice in the log: (GameDB) Changing EE/FPU roundmode to 0 [N]
  • CB v10 locks up, PCSX2 "works" (a.k.a. responses to user input, but that's it) up until you try to reset, shutdown or swap and the likes. PCSX2 crashes / halts.
  • It doesn't matter whether I swap the disc (aka swap ISO) before the CB v10 prompt to swap or after the prompt => (GameDB) Changing EE/FPU roundmode to 0 [N]
  • What I also notice is that it doesn't matter if I use the ISO or plugin option in PCSX2, same thing happens.

Since I'm not the expert I'm hoping you guys may have an answer. I am willing to log a good amount of games that work and do not work, if you think it'll help.

GSdx OpenGL crash on Intel HD Graphics

Hello, I try to run games with OpenGL renderer enabled (software or hardware mode) using git builds 1.5.0, GSdx plugin crashes with message "GSdx plugin failed to open. Your computer may have insufficient resources, or incompatible hardware/drivers.", and these lines appear in log:

Code:
Code:3.x GL context successfully created
Failed to find glCreateQueries
Failed to find glCreateTextures

I tried all settings in GSdx OpenGL plugin but none of them fix crashing. I tested this with git releases v1744 and v1720 and got the same crash. I tested on my PC i5-6500 with Intel HD 530 graphics (latest Intel drivers installed) and laptop with Intel HD 4000 (latest Intel drivers installed).

Reason why i want to use 1.5.0 is that 1.5.0 GSdx plugin fix many issues with shadows and overall graphics in games, and I tried stable version 1.4.0 with OpenGl, it runs but Intel Driver crashes during first minutes of games.

Is this is a known bug and is there someone worikng on this ? Is there any workaround to solve this crash ?

Hi you lovely people!
New to the forum, and just wanted to share this Sims 2 Castaway issue where any resolution higher than native has this weird 'box' around elements and textures.
Anyone have any ideas on what I could do?
I've checked other Castaway threads, but no other solutions helped.
Have a great day!

Weird Textures

Hello folks!

I'm using the latest 1.4.0 version and noticed those kind of weird textures on all games I tested out.

Tested dx11 (Hardware/software) and DX9 out.

I have low resolution on software mode and on hardware weird textures with high resolution.

[Bug]Budokai 3: No ultimate Bar

Hey everyone Smile, first time posting here, so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place, but I need some help. I recently started playing Budokai 3 again and sadly noticed something pretty annoying. Whenver I do an ultimate that needs to fill a bar by pressing a button at the right time, I can't see the bar filling up. It doesn't matter which side, nor when I press, so it makes impossible to know if I'm winning or loosing.

I tried with cheats on and off, but the problem persists. So I'm guessing it's something on my Video configs

Art of Fighting Anthology - Slow gameplay

Just tried Art of Fighting Anthology on PS2 just for the sake of it. While it no longer crashes on Gsdx anymore, the game is abnormally slow. The emulator itself shows 100% speed with 60 VPS but the gameplay is very obviously choppy and sluggish. I looked up some videos on how it plays on a real PS2 and it looked normal enough instead of the sluggish emulation.

[SPOILERS] Persona 4 Crash [SPOILERS]

I'm using PCSX2 to play P4, and every time I defeat Namatame boss, it crashes.
When it first happened, the sound disappeared after I launched the game again. There was no voice acting, music, and some sound effects were missing. Footsteps, hitting, magic, items, option selecting worked, but all other sounds were gone.
And, when I tried to fight him again, it crashed as soon as his health went to 0

I am using some cheats, if that's important lmao
Is there a way to fix this?

Two questions about PCSX 2

Hello all,

Sorry if these questions have been posted before but I just couldn't get a clear answer on them.

1. Is there any way I can enable widescreen for Rayman Revolution on the PCSX 2? I heard that you have to get a patch for it but I can't find it anywhere. Someone on YouTube seems
to have enabled it for the game. See linkt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrsZxsxlNXc

2. For some reason PCSX 2 doesn't give a full smooth 60 fps framerate but an fps just below that (around 59.90). Is there a way to let it reach 60 fps? I can see in the settings that an NTSC framerate is set to 59.94. But it's grayed out and I can't edit there. Is there a solution for this?

Config tips for Persona 4

$

Hey guys,

I am trying to play P4 on PCSX2 but the results are always super sluggish, I can barely walk around in the game without massive framerate drops. I don't know if it is a problem with my sound of graphics configuration, but I thought my computer would be able to handle it. Here are the specs:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 45100 CPU @ 2.OOGHz 2.60 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (788 GB usable)

System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
GRAPHIC CARD: NVIDIA GEFORCE 840M

I believe I am using the latest GSDX and SPU2-X plugins (which seem to be the best ones?), but none of the configuration trials I am doing is working. Any tips?

Best!

Compressed image support

I'd like to start working on support for compressed ISOs. Is anyone working on this yet?

Also, gregory, you mentioned "support for disk.iso.xz" - do you mean XZ format specifically or support for other compression algorithms as well - GZip, BZip, LZMA, etc?

My motivation is entirely selfish - my laptop's builtin SSD is 32 GB - not upgradable. ~25% of my space is PS2 games, and at least 2 GB could be freed with compression.

Posted here since I don't have permission to create threads under the dev forum.

Ideas for E-mail Database Advertising

The time period database advertising refers to a nicely knit relationship between the client and the producer. It is a new technique applied by the enterprise males in the present day, by means of which they get the dear details about his consumer. After getting the e-mail database, then when you attempt to construct relation along with your prospects, by sending them mailers about particular reductions or and so on, they'll really feel privileged and you'll get devoted buyer. Thus your product promote will enhance.

Thus to start out such email database advertising, comply with the under talked about suggestions;
Work by yourself record. Do not buy from the service suppliers. Though initially it seems like a mammoth job, however in the end it is going to allow you to gather data solely about your potential shoppers. In case you purchase record, in lots of a instances you'll find yourself sending mails within the spam folder, which is not going to lead you anyplace.
Ship you prospects, particular card, mailers on their birthdays, anniversaries on particular events, to start out with on New 12 months and Christmas, in order that they really feel privileged. As soon as they're knowledgeable about particular reductions on such events, they'll flip your devoted buyer. Later gather details about their birthday, anniversary, and so on, and shock them by mailing low cost coupon. Therefore it is not going to solely enhance your promote, but in addition get you loyal prospects.

Develop relationship along with your potential buyer. Attempt to gather extra details about his/her firm and attempt to discover when you get scope of promoting your product there as nicely. Search for any and each alternative to broaden what you are promoting and promote your product. Attain as many as attainable.

I open up pcsx2, select the USA bios I have, start the game, then I get this error
"File not found.
Path: IsoFileSystem
(pxActionEvent) IsoFS could not find the root directory on the ISO image.(thread:EE Core)"
If I try and open the file in windows explorer or daemon tools, it'll say the iso has been corrupted.
Why is this happening?
If I try to copy the game from an external hdd I have lying around, it can be opened in windows explorer and daemon tools again, but as soon as I try starting it in pcsx2 it gets corrupted..

The doctor is in! With a question...

So I have this friend who is downright abusive to his computer. He tried to liquid cool his tower with a glass of water through the top fans. TWICE. He fried his Mobo, PSU, and Ram sticks. He decided to go 6th gen, so I took his i5-4570 and tested it. It worked, and I bought it for 50$ (saved ~200$). He kept his old 970, and last week he bought a 1070, so I bought his 970 for the price of the 1050ti I was gonna buy at 140$ (saved ~250$).

This poor card had corrosion all over it because he didn't bother to disassemble and dry his components after the spill, but I am pleased to say after half a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a package of q-tips later it is perfectly fine! I had to take it out and reclean the contacts because it was running as an x1 PCIe card, but it is in great shape and running at x16 now.

Now for the question. The screws holding the heatsink on have gone beyond just corrosion and are actually rusting, and I am worried that the water might have gotten inside the plastic covering. I want to disassemble the card and dust it while checking for corrosion and cleaning it, and maybe replace all the screws. I am curious if anyone knows what kind of screws they use on the 970 so I can get more, and also if I have to remove ALL of the screws. They aren't all the same size and if I don't need to take them off I don't want to Tongue

This is the card in question:

EDIT: I found this image which sort of shows what I'm looking to do. First i just wanna get the plastic dust cover off so i can see if there is any damage, and if I feel I need to THEN I will drop the heatsink and clean the whole thing. I just need to know which screws I want and which I don't want Laugh
