Should my machine be able to run Dragon Quest 8?

$

Hello everyone I'm fairly new to the forums here, so today I started up Dragon quest 8 for the first time but the fps I am getting is around 45-50 fps, I was wondering if my machine could not muster the game at 100% speed or what should/can I do to improve my fps.
My specs are:
Intel i7 4702MQ @2.20GHz
12GB RAM
Nvidia GT 750M
Note that it is not an overheating problem

Hey there

Since I'm not really familiar with posting in forums, I sincerely hope I do not break any rules by posting this here, but I really need some help...

I'm trying for hours to get my cheats on Digimon Data Squad working, but I constantly get a TLB adress missing error.

I'm pretty sure I have the right codes, but in any case I'll attach them so you could look into them.

Also here's the log, hoping, that it will bring enlightenment xD :

Crash after battles in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria

Hi guys,

I have been playing VP2 on PCSX2, and it has unfortunately been a nightmare.

I was getting a lot of crashes, but I used the patch in this thread to fix them:
http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Help-My-V...ria-freeze

But now after reaching Chapter 5 in the game, PCSX2 will crash when finishing any battle (pcsx2.exe has stopped working).

Log is attached, showing a bunch of EE TLB Miss errors.

This happens with or without loading from a savestate, and I have tweaked all sorts of settings to try and get it working.

I'm getting desperate, any help is appreciated. Smile

The only 'cheats' I used were the widescreen fix that is built into PCSX2 (which i stopped using eventually because it led to more crashes), and the GameGaurd fix.

I'm don't want to restart the game, there has to be a better solution. Are there any clever people that are able to enhance GameGaurd fix or something?

I'm getting desperate, any help is appreciated. Smile

Scarface The World Is Yours Issues - Mem Leak?

Hi Guys,

I haven't been on here in ages but saw that Version 1.4 was released hoping it would fix my problem with Scarface.

Unfortunately it did not.

The game gets progressively slower until MicroVU1: Program cache limit reached" is shown. If you look at task manager Ram usage also slowly rises until 3GB+.

VU Usage remains above 90% as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Donovan

Help with Tales of the Abyss

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to play Tales of the Abyss, but it runs at probably half speed of what it should be. Tried some settings I found on the internet that improve the game performance, but it still doesn't run all that smoothly.

I've seen that there is a specific gsdx for it, but since i'm pretty clumsy with computer stuff, couldn't find it or know how to install said gsdx, so, i'd ask for help.

I'm using the version 1.4.0 of pcsx2, and my computer stats here:

I7 4700
8 GB ram
Nvidia 860M GTX

Thank you everyone for your help and your patience with a noob.

Kingdom Hearts II Final mix Crash issue

I would like too begin by saying that I am new to the forum and apologize for any noobness.

Previously I was able to play this game with zero issues. (perhaps a year ago on window 7) I had to buy a new hdd and therefore had to reinstall everything. It seems no matter what settings I use, the game crashes after about 20 mins or so. I've tried different versions of the emulator (1.1.0, 1.2.1, and 1.3.0 all of which are still on my pc) followed uncountable setup videos, but nothing seems to work.
The game always seems to be working appropriately and then crashes before I get the opportunity to save.

My specs:
Windows 10 pro 64 bit
Intel i7 950 @3.07' oc @ 3.4
8gb ram
Msi geforce GTX 970 4gb
 Using a wireless 360 controller.
I've tried leaving all settings at default as well as different setting variations.

If any addtional info is needed I will provide it.
Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to disable BGM for a specific game?

Hi there, sorry if this post doesn't belong here.

I am curious if it is possible to mute only the BGM in God Hand. There are no in game options that allow this, so is it possible to do this by messing around with the audio plugin, or through cheats? If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks.

Need to be able to render in 4K and run 60fps

Hey guys,

So I'm getting a high end laptop as a desktop replacement and I was just making sure I had the hardware to max out any game.

I am aware pcsx2 hates SLI so I will be running it with one gtx 980M. I did some calculations and since the 980m is more powerful than the desktop 960 which is required for 4k, I shouldn't have any problems right?

As far as CPU is concerned, it is a desktop class, with a pretty high single thread score (2300-2500).

Let me know,

Thanks Smile

MGS3S Downloaded Camo Broken?

$

Hey there, I'm having an admittedly minor issue with MGS3 Subsistence, but an issue nonetheless, on PCSX2 version 1.3.1-20151229174710. I didn't see this issue discussed anywhere else despite some extensive searching.

Whenever I attempt to use a downloaded camo, it results in the error "Camouflage data on memory card (PS2) is broken.", whether the memory card already existed or was formatted immediately prior, no matter what size memory card I use. I've tried a number of different settings, including setting the emulation settings preset to Safest, I've tried both with and without the widescreen patches, just in case that was causing the issue, and otherwise my PCSX2 settings are fresh.

I made a quick recording of the issue in case it would help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQQlbL4P-dA

Like I said, it's a minor issue, but I would very much like to be able to use the downloaded camo files, either just for fun or to give myself the edge they provide!

Also before anyone says it, the feature does say "Camouflage Download" but the files themselves are stored on the discs in Subsistence, rather than on servers as they were in vanilla MGS3, so there technically shouldn't be any issue.

Thank you in advance!

resolution rapidly flickering?

So I had to downgrade to 1.2.1 to try and get my codebreaker to work for PCSX2 (which isn't related to the issue at the moment) but when I launch the game Star Ocean 3 it flickers back and forth between my desktop resolution and being really zoomed in rapidly. it's quite weird. I've never experienced the problem before. I had to enable the HW Hack to get the game to boot.

But the screen itself just keeps flickering back and forth at random to really zoomed in to the native resolution i have it at. But it isn't the PCSX2 Window, but the actual game itself.

I am consistently getting this error message. Now I'm new to this emulator thing, and just trying to get my laptop into deployment shape.  Am I loading my iso wrong, or is there something I'm not doing correctly.  I am running windows 10 and have downloaded numerous emulators only to have the same thing happen.

There is a patch for the Russian language which changes at rcr game B7532DF6 and new fixes are not activated for this version of the game. In the English version and the Japanese they work. Tell me how to fix this error with the shadows or have to wait until the release a hot fix?

Hello,

I use linux mint kde 17.2 64b and updated pcsx2 to last version with ppa. gregory.  ver 1 4 0 0

Many things changed need to learn the best setting with this one.

One is missing, "custom resolution" --> no place to enter your personal settings.

Greetings all! I'm not sure where to post this kind of thread but, I was wondering if anyone knew what the cause for these red lines are and what steps I could take to fixing them.

I've tested other games and they don't have these lines only this game presented in the picture.

Thank you in advance.
