Shinobi cheats?

$

Does anyone have any codes for Shinobi (CRC BFCC3E7E). I tried converting some codes myself but they didnt work. These are the codes i was trying to convert from action replay MAX:

Infinite Health
YQ1R-Y45M-8NYKB
827U-KCN5-XJNUQ

Slash Gauge Stays Full
A404-AMWC-5VBP8
FND3-KGWF-0TPWA

If somebody could convert them that would be great.

Is there no way to look into what causes the .hack // G.U Bloom issue?

You know, with the overbloom like some games have...

Unlike other games, Skidrow, offset hacks, all that, nothing helps.

It was easy to initially ignore because the first area or two you go to don't use it much, but later on, it becomes a common effect. I'm 5 or so hours in and sometimes half the screen is just bloom'd out and it's almost worse than playing it in Software.

Mini-map is unfixable I've found as well, though not an issue.  It does work in some dungeons, oddly.

As I get further into the game, as you  can seen in the screenshot, it's harder to ignore than in light areas. Really hurts the enjoyment of running it at 5x native resolution and AF and all that if it's just gonna be like this.

I've tried every configuration  with HW hacks and renderers I could think of.  In cutscenes in game, it's especially bad.

What does the future of PCSX2 look like?

I'm interested in contributing in the future and I wanted to know what the outlook of the emulator is? What major things do we need to implement in order to get this to run at almost 100% efficiency on modern day computers? Do we just have to wait until processors get more powerful or this an issue of just fixing some bugs and implementing new features? Is the technology that we have today sufficient? I'm just a curious supporter who has been following the development of this emulator for years.

How often do you update PCSX2, is it recommended?

Hi with new revisions being released pretty much on a daily basis, how often do you update the emulator?

Also would you recommend doing so? I usually update on a monthly basis.

Looking for software to capture an installation

Hey everyone, i am hoping you can help me out with an issue I'm having.

A client of mine had a bad patch from MS (all fixed now) and had to do an inplace upgrade of his OS (which basically copies the files from C: into Windows.old before a reinstall), all was well until i tried installing his security software, at which point it detects the previous installation (which doesn't exist, as i deleted his windows.old folder after merging his data) and refuses to install.

So to work around this i want to install this software on a VM and capture the changes it makes, then either manually copying the files or repacking the installer to get it working on the other machine. however, i don't know of any software that can do it, ideally i'd like opensource because to be honest it's free. But i'm not opposed to spending to get this working for him.

Reinstalling Windows would work, but would be extremely time consuming and I'd rather avoid it (took 5 hours to patch..)

Suggestions?

some help for you guys with PCSX2 1.2.1 sound and graphics stuttering

Sadly i've been very dead for some time and decided to post this here, Tongue Hope this helps you guys out. I made this video yesterday after i had some problems with my own settings for the last few years and *finally* got it to look like an actual PS2 emulator instead of glitched graphics and popping/stuttering sound effects. For instance this is a bug i've been having with Ace combat 5:

The ground is varied in texture and doesn't look like it belongs there. Here's another from Ace Combat Zero:

Same issue, the graphics are extremely glitched out. So, after several years of messing around with no actual knowledge of what i'm doing (and no video support to tell me what's wrong with the emulator) i finally found how to fix it. Please keep in mind my computer is a quad-core I7 with GTX 970 graphics and 16 Gigs of RAM and a Windows 7 Home premium OS. So this may or may not help lower end computers.

Here's the video I have annotations scattered through the video to help out newcomers to the emulator so remember to keep them on if you feel you need the extra bit of advice or tips on what to skip to for the next step:

Nvidia and PCSX2 support

I hope this helps Smile

Issue with new graphics card

$

I am using PCSX2 to play Tales of the Abyss. Everything was emulating well, but in the middle of the game I installed a new graphics card (I had to; my other one broke) and PCSX2 will not start with the new graphics card. It says "GS Plugin failed to open. Your computer may have insufficient resources, or incompatible hardware/drivers.".

I don't understand a lot of the emulator settings, so I figured I'd just change the settings around randomly a few times, hoping the problem would go away. After changing to a different set of settings, the error message has changed to "Pixel shader version too low! Supported: 0.0 Needed: 2.0 or higher.". Depending on what I have the settings at, I will always get one of these two error messages.

My graphics card is the Radeon R9 380, and I have been told that it does definitely have pixel shader support, so I'm not sure why PCSX2 thinks it doesn't.

I am using Windows 7 32-bit. My CPU is an AMD FX-6300 Vishera.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Question on TAS

I have to ask, while I know how to record footage and use save stats, I can't seem to understand how people get such precise results since from what I can tell PCSX2 doesn't have precise frame by frame advance with matching input.
Does anyone know how they manage consistent split second results so seamlessly?

Insomnia

It sucks. I hate not being able to sleep. Here I am at 0500 with important ***** to do tomorrow and I'm not asleep. No I'm on the Internet cuz what the hell else would I be doing if I was awake lol.

As most of you know I have non 24 hour sleep wake syndrome which means my circadian rhythm is not 24 hours(no ones is exactly but most are close. Mine is close to 26) and thus my day night cycle very often does not line up with real world time. It's especially hard during the short days of late fall/winter... like now. Less sun = it goes even more out of whack.

Not much they can do about it either. Sleeping meds don't work for more than a few days, just fighting it only leads to misery because it WILL win(I've been awake over 100 hours before -.-) so you just deal with it. This is me, dealing with it. I make a thread. I make so many threads... I wonder how many are due to not sleeping?

Anyway anyone else have any sleep problems? Post about it! I'm going to lay back down and not sleep some more. Tongue2

God Of War 1 FPS drops

This is my first ever thread in a forum so i know i'm going to miss something, so forgive me.
I'm trying to run GoW 1 on my rig and been getting pretty strange (at least for me) results. I'm playing a PAL version and the game usually goes from 50fps to 30 for no apparent reason, and aways in the same spots (i've tried to turn on and off the speed hacks, but nothing changes), slowing down movement. Is this reasonably for my pc?

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX 8320 eight core... (Not OC'd)
GPU: Geforce GTX 970
RAM: 8gb (DDR3)

Sory for the poor english and if this has been answeared over and over, i'm just not finding anything in my searches.

Steam Controller configuration for PCSX2

$

Hello,

I propose here an example of Steam Controller configuration for PCSX2.

In order to use the Steam controller on PCSX2 you must run PCSX2 through Steam. According to some article on the web the native support of the controller is announced for the kernel 4.3 on Linux (I don't know for Windows).

- Add the game on steam  :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-05-17.png (Size: 361,91 KB / Downloads: 13)

- Pick the PCSX2 bin file :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-06-32.png (Size: 42,72 KB / Downloads: 9)

- You must find on the left PCSX2 with your list of games :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-07-14.png (Size: 13,28 KB / Downloads: 7)

- Modify property of the PCSX2 "game" :
Exemple :
Final Fantasy X
Target : "/sbin/PCSX2" "--fullscreen" "--nogui" "/path/to/final_fantasy_x.iso" (--fullscreen --nogui parameters are optional, it's up to you)
Start in : "/sbin/" (don't change the default value)
Notice that each paths, commands, parameters must be between quotation mark.

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-09-12.png (Size: 19,81 KB / Downloads: 8)

- Run the Big Picture mode and select your game :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-11-40.png (Size: 682,39 KB / Downloads: 7)

- Manage shortcut -> Configure controller :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-12-17.png (Size: 206,36 KB / Downloads: 5)

- Gamepad Configuration :

Global :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-25-28.png (Size: 250,08 KB / Downloads: 10)

Left joystick :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-21-04.png (Size: 90,48 KB / Downloads: 8)

Right touchpad (Right joystick) :
For more confort, change "Require click" to OFF in order to use the tactile instead of the click and increase the dead area for the thumb.

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-22-24.png (Size: 85,64 KB / Downloads: 8)

- After that you just need to configure PCSX2 with your favourite gamepad plugin :

.png   Capture d’écran_2015-11-17_22-29-40.png (Size: 67,73 KB / Downloads: 10)

And it's done !

I hope that can help you.

Win10 Slow Performance with OpenGL (not gsdx.ini related)

$

I'm having trouble running anything at all with OpenGL because it runs at exactly half the speed of D3D11 (feels like some sort of framecap?). i can get most of what i want to play working with D3D11 anyway but i figured i'd ask about it here since i also noticed the very same symptom in retroarch and suspect it might be a windows 10/graphics driver issue or some other thing that could interfere.

Specs:
Core i7-5700HQ (2.7ghz)
Geforce GTX 980M (4gb vram) with driver version 358.91 (Latest as of writing)
8Gb ram
Windows 10 64-bit

I've been using multiple versions of 1.3.1 from the GIT download page including the latest one (as of 18/11/2015 at 3:00 pm gmt) and i've got no VU Cycle stealing or EE Cyclerate hacks on and i have tested at native and higher than native in multiple tests. Using the SSE41 version of GSDX 20151118095343. Mostly been testing God Hand and Ys: Ark of Napishtim from both ISO and DVD's though Zombie Hunters 2 also has the same issue when using OGL. I have also tried deleting the gsdx.ini multiple times to make sure no residual errant strings are present like in the other thread i saw relating to windows 10 and slow OGL with no luck.

As i said before though, it also happens somewhat selectively on non demanding systems on Retroarch which is why i suspect it's not the emulator itself but instead something else. Just asking here incase anyone has any possible answer to this. googling about windows 10 and slow OGL performance turned nothing up either so i have waited and researched before posting this.

Strange stretching - Dragon Quest VIII

Hi, I currently have a problem with my dragon quest VIII, its pretty bad and means I cannot play the game. I applogise if this is some noob mistake, i havent been using pcsx2 for very long.

Firstly I have tried with other games and they work fine and have tried with all stock settings, native resolutions, different widescreen settings etc. Dont know to put this in bugs or not as it could be a simple fix. Currently with 6x native and everything maxed out. Also tried with settings off/stock and normal native resolutions aswell.

This is what my game currently looks like on the first intro (yes that is the stretched characters). If i run around I also can see my character stretched on the sides aswell.

http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm139...j7svbx.png

I cannot find anything about it online and have tried various pcsx2 versions, all different settings etc. Very wierd.

This is one of my most favourite ps2 games so would be a shame if i cannot play it.

Thanks Smile.
