MGS2 Substance - microVU0 error

Decided to try this game again, and I noticed my console window is displaying the following error multiple times:

microVU0 Warning: Branch, Branch, Branch! [05c8]

It doesn't seem to affect anything in-game from what I can tell, as there are no crashes or whatever. So what could the effect (and cause) of this error be?

This happens right at the start of the game btw, for those who may want to try and reproduce it. (during the Tanker part). Might happen in later areas too, but have yet to get there.

Lasers... They seem to be the major fps killer on Direct 3D 11/9 but switching to opengl will slightly help but only a 2 fps difference from the 40 fps it drops down too
Does anyone know the cause or any possible fixes?

Whenever I would try to run games like Destroy All Humans or any of the Ace Combat games, the textures would be all glitchy and pixilated.  I don't know if it is a bug or an incompatibility but I would like to know if it is fixable.

Plugins Used: GSdx 1.1.0[GSdx32-AVX2] - OpenGL Hardware - internal resolution 3x Native, Hacks: Unscale Point and Line, Half Pixel Offset Texture+aggressive/ OpenGL Software
Description: Improper glowing effect on light various objects when upscaling above Native resolution. Tried all hacks enabled with no perceivable changes.

Steps to reproduce
At the beginning of the game instead of stepping in the tutorial circle on the ground, go to the video plugin options and raise the internal resolution to anything above native.

The area pictured in the screenshots is from the second level. I chose it because its where the bug was extremely obvious. It happens on the first level too.

Fatal Frame III memory problem

Hello i am very new to PCSX2 i have problem with my memory card. when i play Fatal Frame III 
it says "cannot find game data on memory card (8mb) (for Playstation 2) in MEMORY CARD slot 1"
i tried Formated the memory cards, tried installing older versions of PCSX2(mine is currently 1.4.0) , tried exchanging different cards.
i dont know what to do any more like i said i am VERY NEW to PCSX2.
please someone help me with this problem

Hello to everyone,
my name's Andrea and I've got a PCSX2 configuration crash problem and I hope someone can help me to solve it.
Before speaking of it, I must tell You I think it is not a problem of OS or Visual Basic Runtimes, since I installed every Visual Basic runtime library (both in x86 and x64), from VBrun 5 to 2015 onto Windows 10 x64, but this occurs even onto Windows 7.
I've tried onto two PCs, an ASUS G750JX notebook, and a custom PC with:

1. Windows 10 x64
2. 32Gb Ram
3. AMD9590FX cpu
4. Nvidia 980 Ti AMP gpu
5. Asus Xonar sound card
6. Asus Sabertooth 990 motherboard

Here's the problem: when I launch the emulator, no matter which version it is, after choosing its language (but even leaving System Default is the same), at the plugin configuration screen, both trying to configure them and leaving everything untouched, it appears a message, telling me PCSX2 has stopped working and I am obliged to close it.
Launching it again, the same problem occurs again; I think I've tried everything and I do not know what more I can do! It MUST be a solution, but what is it?

I had a problem that OpenGL always turns itself off as the dev team said my PC didn't support it.

I can finally have the OpenGL run for my games! Very thank you to the dev team. XD

Since the OpenGL is in working, the life bar and other game's UI has finally come back for me. (Direct3D 9 still has this issue, though OpenGL is more interesting for me right now)
However, please notice at Window's title bar. The framerate drops on some parts of the game. 
Turning MTVU on seems doesn't help. I'll have to reduce the resolution from 800x600 to 640x480 and the framerate rises to 51, still a little slowdown. (When it goes below 59.94 the game always runs slower, I thought it could be okay if it's not below 30)

Other games seem to work fine, I haven't found any problem yet.

Specs:
A thin notebook PC with Core i5 5200u without graphic card. 16GB of RAM. 256GB of SSD. Windows 10 (no creator update yet.)
PCSX2's version : pcsx2-v1.5.0-dev-1994-g24eb162-windows-x86
(Since my last post, I didn't update any drivers for my PC at all because there're works that were keeping me occupied)

I read the report at the front of webpage and was really exciting to see PCSX2 can run PSX games! So I hurrily picked up a game and try (FF7)

The game freezes at this screen. Aww... this tells me that the dev team needs more time.

But I'd like to express how I'm feeling. All of these are really exciting for me! Please keep up the good work!

Ace Combat: The Belkan War
I had no problem playing this game. There was a little slowdown but I made it to the final stage of the game.

While I was playing it at the actual PS2 console, I can softly press the square button to keep my plane flying at constant slower speed.
Now that I'm playing it with keyboard, if I press the J button (represented as square of PS2's controller), the game will keep reducing plane's speed as long as I hold the button.
And because of this, I keep crashing my plane at enemy's base since the final mission of the game is to move the plane inside the narrow path under the base.

I think the only solution is to find a controller. But I'm thinking of its name. Is this the reason why they (Sony) called it "Analog controller" ?

Even the OpenGL can work, the log window is still printing these lines. (Failed to find {OpenGL's function name} )
I don't know if it's really okay now. Maybe I should play some games for a month and see...

ChoroQ HG 4 - Freezing on ending cutscene/credits

Title explains it pretty well, really. 
The credits/ending cutscene freezes at just a few seconds in (as the things fly over the hospital), and there's no way to progress from there.
If I use my (european) CD version of the game, the emulator goes down to ~2 fps and freezes for long stretches of time, before finally freezing 'for good'. 
If I use an (american) Iso version of the game, the emulator runs at 60fps, but at a certain point in the cutscene the game gets stuck and keeps playing the same sound over and over again. The emulator stays at 60fps in this scenario, though.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a newcomer to the forums and a newbie at using pcsx2, so I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious!

I can provide the Iso and a savestate/memcard, if needed.

My hardware specs are; 
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 770
  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k (3.5GHz)
  • 16GB DDR3 Ram
  • 64-bit Win10
I'm running PCSX2 1.4.0
Not using any non-default settings (or rather, the error occurs with default settings as well)
The game I'm trying to run is ChoroQ HG 4, Error occurs on both European CD and American Iso, although in somewhat different ways.

How do I install ZZogl on Ubuntu 16?

I am running Ubuntu 16.04 on a laptop which has Intel HD graphics (Ironlake?).

glxinfo tells me that I have OpenGL ES 2.0 Mesa 12.0.6

I installed PCSX2 from the PPA

In the Component Selectors, the only GS option I have is GSdx (GCC 5.3.1, SSE2) 1.0.0

When I start I get the following message:

GS plugin failed to open. Your computer may have insufficient resources or incompatible hardware/drivers

In the various threads I have read, it seems that it might be worth trying a different GS, perhaps ZZogl, but for the life of me I can't figure out where to get it, either as binary or to compile.

Can anyone point me to it so I can try?

Also if anyone has any suggestions on how I might be able to get this to work (or knows that I might as well just give up with the Intel HD graphics), please enlighten me!

Rachet and Clank ISO Slow

I've been trying to get Rachet and Clank (the first one) to play somewhat decent, I've tried every "best pcsx2 settings" videos out there and none of them help.

Specs: 
Intel i3
1.70 ghz
8 GB ram

Is there anyway to play this reasonalbly?  Sad

Massive slowdown whenever I'm saving in any game

Hello all.
I have never had this issue before, but now whenever I am saving in any games that I am playing on PCSX2, I get massive lag and slowdown. Again, I have never had this issue before, and I even upgraded to 1.4.0 and still have this issue. (The version that I've been using was 1.2.1) I've tested this with Tales of the Abyss, Persona 4, Persona 3, and Dark Cloud 2 and all present with the same issue of massive slowdown whenever I am saving in any of these games. Can anyone help? Is it that the memory cards are corrupted or something?

Ace Combat 5 need help setting up

I am having issues setting up PCSX2 1.5.0 dev 1994 GIT build.

My specs are :

Core i7 6700K @ 4.0 Ghz

GTX 1070 Founders Edition

32Gb Ram

Windows 10 Creators update.


I have set everything up as shown in the attached screenshot.

The issues I am having at the moment are glitching trees with weird pixels appearing around the trees (I think this issues is a known issue in DX11 rendering) nothing I tried so far has remedied the issue.

Another issue I am experiencing are with big explosions (The burst Missile explosion effect) where a big black square appears around the effect this issue is also unresolved and I have tried a few tweaks but none have worked.

Finally there seems to be an issue with the clouds in the game not showing up in HW mode I do not know if this can be fixed or if its a limitation with PCSX2.

If anyone has advice/help in setting up Ace Combat 5 I would like to hear them !

PS Thank you very much PCSX2 team for making this program what it is today I have been using the emulator since 2012 and following progress it has been amazing to see PCSX2 mature to what it is today.

Mercenaries Playground of Destruction Help

Hello people.

I need help setting up Mercenaries Playground of destruction.

I know it can now run flawlessly on OGL HW mode but I am yet to find the perfect settings for it.

I am having weird graphical artifacts and the game is unplayable in this state.

I have attached an image of my current settings.

Hoping someone can help.

Pacman World 2: crash at specific point

Hello there

I'm experiencing a crash at a specific point in the game Pacman World 2 which makes it unplayable. The level "Treewood Forest" keeps freezing somewhere halfway through: the music continues but everything else stops working and pausing the emulation makes the screen go black upon restarting. I'm running on pcsx2 build 1.4.0 on Windows and don't use any speedrunning, gamefixing or other tools (all standard configurations).

I'll include my specs below although i don't think my computers capabilities (or lack thereof) are causing the crash since it runs pretty smoothly otherwise.

Besides this one, some other crashes seem to be prevalent too (such as in the first level or the level B-doing forest) but they don't prevent you from continuing the game. Although i haven't found many, some users seem to be experiencing similiar problems (cf. link). Are there any workarounds possible? If not, i suggest to update the compatibility list.

PCSX2 Crashes, Deadlocks PC on Startup

I installed PCSX2, following the text guide from the site. I set everything to the defaults pretty much, configured it to use my GPU, updated directx, .net, visual c++, and my GPU drivers. I am attempting to play Persona 3 FES off of the original game disk. However, the first time I tried it launched to a black window and then deadlocked my pc. I re-checked some settings, tried again, and it deadlocked my pc without even opening a window. After that, I tried to check all the settings one more time, but the program crashed as soon as I launched it, and, you guessed it, deadlocked my pc. Following that, my pc began locking up at startup until I uninstalled the emulator in safe mode, which immediately stopped all issues. Understandably I am incredibly confused and kind of annoyed. Does anyone have any idea what could be responsible for this level of utter buggery?

PC SPECS:
GTX 980
Intel 7700k
Windows 7 64-bit
16GB RAM

Controller works within Ps2 System area but not in-game

I apologise if I missed a previous thread regarding my issues.

I am using the current Psx2 build, an Xbox 360 controller and the lilipad plugin. 

When I boot to the Ps2 system (e.g no disc in drive/where I can format memcard etc) my controller works without any apparent issues.  The stick works and it detects button presses.  

However, when I load an .Iso or a game disk , it stops detecting my controller and I cannot press buttons or move on any axis.  

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or if anyone had any thoughts.  Let me know if I can provide any further information.

Unable to play games which i downloaded and converted from bin to iso

Hello. When i tried to download some games, namely Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex and Smarties meltdown (for nostalgia purposes as i used to play it frequently as a child), they come in a .bin file. I have then downloded img burner and attempted to rebuild them as an iso file. I can succesfully do that but that but once i go onto pcsx 2 and attempt to play the game i always get hit with the RSOD and the message that i have to input a Playstation ro Playstation2 format disc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I just used boot camp to install win10 on my macbook pro with retina because I want to play PCSX2 on it.

But now I play any game,  the screen just goes black. Can anybody help? The log is attached below.
