Motion blur-like effects due to interlacing mode

$

I was trying Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and Dark Cloud and when turning my character I notice the whole scenery gets a softened look, almost like a motion blur. I was thinking my monitor is melting or something, but then I fiddled with interlacing options. Only interlacing: none makes it look as crisp as on a CRT and gets rid of all ghosting, but it does introduce jitter or comb effects depending on which setting I use.

Is this a general thing for all games (barring those that have progressive mode), or could it be that one deinterlacing method works better on one game but another one is perfect for a different game? In the mentioned games it seems "none" gives me best results.

Netted/Pixelated graphics... please help!!

Immediately after downloading the emulator and playing our first game we were thrilled! Everything looked great; the speed of the audio was a bit accelerated, but with some quick searches and trial n' error, we were able to fix it. This newest issue however hasn't been as easy. I've spent the better part of the hour trying to find something related to this particular graphics issue. There's a myriad of useful info out there, but nothing quite like this. If I've missed it in this forum I apologize. In either case, I sincerely appreciate your help!!!

ISSUE: Pixelated / Netted graphics (up-close they appear to be a tessellation of hexagons) on all games and loading screens

CAUSE: Unknown - My kids got a hold of the keyboard while I was in another room and when I returned, graphics were changed. I've attempted adjusting the settings and rebooting the system several times, even restoring the default, all to no avail.

I've attached several different screen shots of what's going on including a thumbnail view of one of the pictures from the 'toggle open window' menu on my computer. Again, thanks for your help!

GTA LCS/VCS non-transparent alpha bug and blurry look

$

For some reason I cannot get rid of non-transparent alpha bug at the radar and in-game text, yeah it's not a game breaker thing but it looks bad and annoying. Some guy said download latest Git build of PCSX2 and enable large framebuffer, but I didn't even knew what it means, (sorry for my newbie-ness) so I downloaded latest Git build and installed, it looked like a standart PCSX2 version with all of my custom settings absent, so I had to re-customize it. I tried to look at large framebuffer, but it was already enabled by default and with no-way to disable it even if I want to for any reason, it was greyed out. I checked my game to see if alpha bug was still there, but it was still there, large framebuffer didn't worked for me. Is there any way to fix that?

Another thing is I noticed my games on PCSX2 looks blurry, yet same games looking perfectly on PPSSPP emulator, are these blurriness happening due to PCSX2, or is it from LCS/VCS's playstation 2 versions? What can I do for making my game less blurry? Here's comparison pics with PSP/PS2 versions:

Vice City Stories PS2

Liberty City Stories PS2

Please right click on pics and open them in new tab to actually see resolution differences, at resized smaller version of them, it's nearly unnoticeable.

PS2 Emulation on Android?

Haven't been here in a LONG while, so if some things changed and I forget, sorry

Since I have NO idea if talk about ps2 emulation on android belongs anywhere else, provided if I believe admins can move this topic to wherever its appropriate, then ill post here

Has there been any talks about making an android version of pcsx2, or IF there will never be one, do you recommend Play! as one?

Reason is I finally got my Moto RAZR replaced with a Samsung GalaxyS7 (FINALLY), so now im looking into emulation on my phone for times when I'm bored and don't have my Computer to play games on, so I decided to look through wikipedia on the current list of emulators usable on android and so far, Play! is the ONLY one I found

I still have the consoles I need to get the bios files from (gamecube, ps2, etc....), so only question is, good or not?

Also, I got ps1 covered, still can't believe the one I had since childhood still works, amazing

GOW2 graphical bug

Hi,

Hope you can help.

I'm trying to play GOW2, everything looks great and the speed is OK-ish. The thing that puts me off though is that the draw distance is really poor and you can see 'behind' the environment onto the light blue 'screen' in the background.

Anyone else know of this problem and how to resolve it?

Regards,

Making NFL 2k5 recognize a virtual HDD

Goal: to enable video replays during halftime shows. IRL this requires the official addon HDD in a fat PS2

I'm running PCSX2 v1.4.0
MegaDev9 plugin v1.0.1
PS2 bios USA v01.60 SCPH-39001_BIOS_V7_USA_160

I open MegaDev9 config, select 8GB
when I start PCSX2 it creates the HDD image for about 10 minutes.
I can see that an 8GB file was created "dev9hdd.raw"
Once finished PCSX2 launches.
I know that it needs to be formatted, so I  run ELF - HDLoader.ELF

HDloader recognizes the HDD... 8GB.. it's there

It's still not recognized in-game or in the PS2 browser
I need it to think I have the official PS2 HDD
Now what...? I'm stuck

I couldn't find compatibility information for this game however I got the ISO for it and played it. Everything works perfectly except the batsman's and runner's running between the wickets to score runs in singles, doubles or triples etc. You can hit 4's and 6's just fine and the score will get updated. However, when you try to score by running between the wickets i.e. hit a ball and try to run by pressing circle button, the batsman's and runner's animation in the inset is stuck i.e. they keep running in the same spot while the camera follows the ball that was hit and no runs are scored or reflected in the scorecard box. I tried disabling speed hacks gamefixes but it still has the same issue. EA Sports Cricket 2004 does not have the same problem though. Can someone suggest if I am doing anything incorrectly and any other options that could potentially fix the issue?

I have tried multiple region BIOSes with the same issue.

I am using PCSX2 version 1.4.0 with the default settings, the stable release for Windows. Video renderer is OpenGL software.

PC Specs: Windows 8.1, Intel core i7 3.4 Ghz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 980Ti
BIOS: Europe v2.20
ISO: Cricket 2002 (Australia) ISO

2d elements in widescreen hacks

is it possible to fix the stretching on 2d things in widescreen hacks? ideally I'd like to have the hud stuff just stay 4:3 while the 3d game is rendered outside the border.

For reference I'm playing .hack//infection, but it seems like every widescreen hack behaves this way (stretching 2d elements)

21:9 Ratio in PCSX2?

$
0
0
Yeah, I am not sure where to put this, so is putting it here~

Kinda a simple question, but am not certain how simple it would be to implement.

You know how PCSX2 has a 4x3 and 16x9 ratio lock, yes?
How hard would it be to add a 21x9 lock, well... 2.35x1 to be more precise?

I play PCSX2 in 21x9. Although I am on a 16x9 screen. I like the cinema style layout better.
I would like to be able to play game in full-screen, yes this would put black bars on top and bottom, but that's no issue for me.
And if your comment is just going to be trashing 21x9, or questioning why I play in 21x9 over 16x9 even though I am on a 16x9 screen. Don't bother commenting.
And to further save you the trouble.
I get these weird claustrophobic problems when I play in 16x9, don't ask why, I myself am vexed.
I have noticed it doesn't happen with 21x9. Why I play that way.

Question standing at how hard would it be to add a 21x9 option to the ratio selection/lock?

Black screen. Hardware and software mode. If it was needed of me to change the name of a title, all that has to be done was to ask me to change it. FlatOut, you proved my own point for me. If I put a japanese name on my dump, what sense does that make to say it is downloaded? Last time I checked, ppl name the game to what it is even in downloads, so you make no sense. Flatout provided no proof and yet deleted my thread anyway making accusations. I have not broken any rules so therefore I am putting it back up and will continue to do so until someone competent enough comes in to tell me otherwise.
