Render issues

AMD FX 8350
24GB Ram
AMD Radeon HD 8570
Windows 10

Preset 3
Black, Burnout3

Okay so running one from the ISO and one from disk I encountered the same problem. Plugin GSDX 4600 with hardware Direct3D11 gets me a good playable speed however it has bad visual issues, colour distortion ghosting, but only in the gameplay, videos  and menus work fine.
If I change that to software games render fine but drop to 24fps on average and no settings seam to change this.

Any suggestions on what to do.

i5/i7 and ram question

Hi guys, sorry not sure where to post this. Been years since I tried pcsx2 on my e8400/hd4670. Planning to build a new pc and wanted to consider pcsx2 performance.

I'm thinking between a i5 6600 or i7 6700. Will hyper-threading help much? For ram planning on just 8gb, is that more than enough?

As for a gpu, maybe a gtx 1070 or 1060 if its too expensive.

read error for culdcept

So I just downloaded the program and thought there was a problem with compatability because I keep getting a read error for the culdcept iso from *snip*- however, other iso's run perfectly.
To correct I tried to locate another iso only to have the same issue (I am guessing that the available culdcept usa iso's online are all based on the same corrupt file)

I was wondering if there was a way to correct the read error without a working disk (mine is old and scratched to hell, my ps2 wont even read it as being in the console).

Toca Race Driver 2 and 3 Red line issues, lots of stuttering in software mode

Trying to place TOCA race driver 2 and 3. Both have issues with lines on the screen, have tried the F9 trick, that removes the lines, but the games run horrendously slow,  all audio is stuttered and can barely accelerate

What plugin settings would fix this?

shouldnt be an issue with my PC, Currently running a i5 6500 and 8GB DDR4, and R5 340x 2gb

Browsing ISO's with images

Hi! I registered here just to ask (or give an idea of it, depends if this "plugin" already exists).
As you know, browsing ISO's of games is just "ugly". By ugly I mean no beauty here, not at all.
Here is how it looks now:

How about browsing games with their covers' images? I mean we could just click "browse" and screen with added games (images) could pop up and you're ready to choose what do you want to play. It could looks nice and give an PCSX2 more esthetic look.
What do you guys think? Is it possible to be made? Or it's already somewhere here and I'm too dumb to find it.

Anybody know for sure if SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs is playable in PCSX2? Because I'm able to see the PS2 splash screen intro and then hear the intro video music but no video at all. Even tried with USA BIOS v1.60, v2.00 and v2.20 but the same thing happens.

[TUTORIAL] HOW TO MAKE *SOME GAMES RUN AT 50FPS, 60FPS, 120FPS, ETC

$

I found a way to make (some) games run at unsupported framerates.

If you ever went to any AR/Codebreaker/Etc. cheat codes database webpage like gamehacking.com or codejunkies.com you might’ve stumbled upon some special codes called “Speed Modifiers”. This codes alter the games' internal timers to make them slower or faster.
We can use these codes to our advantage to slow down specific games, and then speed up the emulator’s internal framerate, obtaining the double (or triple…) amount of frames rendered per second, thus obtaining 60fps (if the game runs at 30 RFPS), 120fps (if the game runs at 60RFPS), etc.

NOTE: This also speeds up the loading screens.

Normally speed modifier codes only exist for PAL games, and this might have to do with how developers program their games for running at 50hz. In any case, you’ll normally end up getting 50fps instead of 60, but the difference during gameplay is still very noticeable.

Here’s what you should do to achieve (for example) 50fps in Forbidden Siren 2 [SCES 53851] (E):

  • Copy the “Slow Motion” and “Normal Speed” codes. Take note of the buttons you have to press in your gamepad
[Image: KVzLvp0.jpg]
  • Make a pnach cheat file for PCSX2 (use the cheat converter if necessary)
  • Open the PCSX2 settings and adjust the “Turbo Limit” to 200% (you can put it on the base framerate too, but it’s not too practical if you want to switch speeds during gameplay)
  • Go to the SPU2-X settings and change the “Synchronizing Mode” to “Async Mix”. Otherwise the audio will sound distorted (NOTE: Expect some audio overlapping from time to time).
  • The speed code for this game only affects the gameplay, so changing the speed during cutscenes will only play them faster (at 30 fps)

  • Once you’re playing, you can press R3+Down (as indicated in the description of the cheat code), turn on the turbo function (by pressing the TAB key), and enjoy the game at 50fps instead of 25.
[it shows 100vfps in the image]

Excl Remember to disable the turbo function everytime a cutscene is playing

Here’s a list of games that I already tested:

Clock Tower 3 [SLES-51619] (afair you can run it at +90fps]
Manhunt 2
[SLUS-21613 (60fps) & SLES-54819 (50fps)]
Marc Ecko's Getting Up - Contents Under Pressure [SLES-53459]
Medal of Honor - Frontline [SLUS-20368 (60fps) & SLES-50846 (50fps)]
Metal Arms - Glitch in the System [SLES-51758]
Silent Hill 2 - Director's Cut
[SLES-51156]
Silent Hill: Origins [SLES-55147]
Forbidden Siren 2 [SCES-53851]
The Getaway - Black Monday [SCES-52758]

I you want codes, here’s where you should start searching:

And here are some gameplay videos:

[I recorded the Siren 2 gameplay footage before knowing that it was better to set the sound synchronization to “Async Mix”, so the audio sounds distorted]

NOTE: Keep in mind that more frames per second means more PC requirements.

Wild Arms 5 Battle+World Map Problem

When a battle starts, fps gets between 45-55. I tried a battle with Asgard and the emulator runs perfectly. In world map, the character moves slowly. Sound is perfect. Other JRPG games runs without problem with 3x-4x native like Grandia 3, so I think the problem is not from my PC. I tried the latest PCSX2 version but no effect. I want the best configuration known for this game. There is a Hack for WA games called "WildArmsOffset', should I have to enable it?

Intel core 2 Quad.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460.

4GB RAM DDR2.

Windows 7 SP1 x64.

Are these Playstation "ports" emulation or partially rewritten games?

$

- A Bugs Life
- Toy Story 2
- Fighting Force

I think they are all emulated, surprisingly good emulated considering the best emulator back in the day was VGS from Connectix..

Fighting Force have options for z-buffer and texture perspective correction, both features were missing in the original hardware (aswel as floating point math, antialiasing, texture filtering, etc) and it makes no sense as pc native game options.

What i dont know if they are 100% emulated or only partially emulated, like Metal Gear Solid Integral.

Toy Story have both Playstation executable IDS (US and EU) in the retail PC game.

Creating ISO Images of My Games

Is the process pretty straight forward? Insert my PS2 game disc in the optical drive on my computer, right-click on the drive with the disc in it, and Create CD/DVD image using a program like UltraISO?

Are my specs good enough to play these games?

I have a pretty good system that can play some PS2 games on The PCSX2 emulator, but there are some games that have a lot of slowdown now and then.

The Games I'm having issue with are the following:
Metal Gear Solid 3
Soulcaliber 3
R-Type Final
God of War 2
God Of War 3

All games are NTSC

They run super smooth 70% of the time, but there are random spots where it gets sluggish.
I've tweaked a few settings with some progress, And I have looked at thread for the specs needed to run PS2 games,
but I need to know if my specific specs are strong enough to run these games, and if so, what can I adjust in the emulator to get
the best settings?

Specs:
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU Intel Xeon E5645 @ 2.40GHz 32 °C
Westmere-EP 32nm Technology
RAM 6.00GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 664MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard LENOVO Lenovo (1366-pin LGA) 21 °C
Graphics  1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6450

PS4 controller rumble without DS4 Windows?

$

I've been having some intermittent issues with DS4 Windows randomly disconnecting among other issues like screwing with my keyboard so I thought I would just connect my PS4 controller and bind the controls without it (PCSX2 recognizes it fine) only problem is.....

The rumble doesn't work. When I try to test the motors it doesn't recognized the controller as a device it can send rumble commands to. Is there any way around this besides going back to DS4Windows?

Ar Tonelico: "DVCI: File Cache was not hit"

While playing Ar Tonelico I have this constantly streaming down the log is it something I should be worried about? I haven't seen any big issues but I just want to be sure. The only thing of note is that there is some noticeable lag when opening and closing the in game menu.

It looks like this and repeats
Code:
SesqSetSq(sesqPort=0,addr=f8400)
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥SOUND¥STREAM¥STREAM.AFS;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"
DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥RPK.BIN;1"

Edit: I'm on the absolute latest version of PCSX2 I downloaded the git before posting this topic (happened in previous gits as well and I'm fairly certain it happens in 1.4) and it seems to happen with every combo of settings i've tried.

#Description: No visible problems while standing still (in software mode, to avoid a different glitch). However, while moving quickly, bars of  various size will flash across the screen. I think it's artifacting, but never experienced it like this before. Tried OpenGl and Direct3D (9 & 11) in both hardware and software modes and native/ various levels of internal resolution, no luck. Screenshots are difficult to capture due to the nature of the problem, but I can create a video if anyone wants one.
